How can you tell when it's time to stop bulking?

Hello folks,

I’ve been bulking for the past 40 days and have gone from 71 kg to 82 kg. I expect a few of those kilos to be water retention from the Deca and from the 30-day Anadrol 50 mg run, which I finished last week.

I’m currently eating between 4,500 and 5,500 calories a day, high protein with around 200 g of carbs. I don’t have a naturally lean body type. I was overweight most of my life and managed to get reasonably lean (~15% body fat) this summer.

I’m starting to look bloated again, and the plan is to continue this bulk until the end of February. I can tell I am gaining muscle, my arms, chest, and legs all look noticeably bigger and fuller compared to when I was leanest, and I know some fat gain is expected. I’m just worried about crossing the line where the bulk becomes excessive fat rather than muscles and lean mass, and I’m unsure how to gauge that.

How much body weight/mass is typically reasonable to gain during a 4-month bulk?

For context:
Age: 38
Height: 175 cm
Training: 5 days/week, hard, 90 minutes per session
Calories: 4,500–5,500 daily

Current cycle:
Test C: 400 mg/week
Primo: 600 mg/week
Deca: 250 mg/week
HGH: 3.6 IU/day
Retatrutide 1 mg/week (for lipids/ALT management)

Post bulk I will gradualy starting the cut to settle at around 2000 calories for following next few months. I will also be dropping the Deca, loweing Test to 200mg, Primo to 400mg and HGH to 2 IU. Will also taitrate Reta up to 5mg a week, and add injectable L-Carnitine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Only 200 g of carbs and your bulking? What are you relying on the drugs to do most of the work for you? You gotta feed the furnace when you're on a bulk.

5000 calories with only 200g carbs? are you just eating butter? Slurping the bacon grease?

It's time to stop bulking when you can't see your old fella anymore.

Jokes aside I honestly don't know.

Actually my diet consisted of mostly proteins :S

Hey man, I’m having a hard time understanding this. 800kcal from carbs and 4500kcal mostly from protein? How much protein you eat, 1000 grams? If you track it down you’ll see that you’re either wrong on calculations or your fats are 400 grams, there’s no other way around (logically).

No bodybuilder bulks hard on high protein. That Russian dude who weighs 330lb lean eats 50gr fats and 250 protein, rest is carbs. I don’t know why so many lately trying to reinvent the wheel. Excessive protein on a bulking phase could mess with your kidneys, destroys your appetite and bloats the midsection. High fats are unnecessary too, you’ll have to start cranking them up only as a last resort and when you hit the ceiling with your carbs, like when you have 1000gr and food volume is getting ridiculous, it could make sense.

Also, 22 pounds in just over a month is mostly water and fat. I gained 30 pounds in 4,5 months and my abs are still there. Hell yeah if I wanted to I could have gained now 80+ but weight is not the goal here, muscle tissue it is.

1.75m 71kg and dirty bulk on 5000kcals ?

Whey not start from kcals before bulk, and increase 250kcals a day ?
Now you gained 11kg’s, mostly fat and waterretention.

Cut to about 12% bf and gain lean

Quick and dirty signs:
- always sluggish
- unable to achieve a good pump in the gym
- no visible abs
- digestion slowing/constant bloating
- no longer growing and incapable of pushing clean food any higher
All you are describing means it's time to start using slin...that's what more than a few of my gym bros would recommend ...
I'm not ....
