Hgh and hyperplasia

So I was recently listening to my favorite bb podcast and they had on Scott Stevenson. And he gave a pretty in depth breakdown on hypertrophy and hyperplasia. To conclude the interview the hosts asked him about rhGH influence on muscle fiber hyperplasia. He said throughout all his research he has been unable to find any correlation between the two. He said the the igf-1 needed to induce this is actually produced in the muscle. He said the igf-1 spike cause by exogenous GH is produced in a certain organ. Can't remember which one. But it has no affect on actual muscle hyperplasia. So my question is, has anyone seen any articles concerning this? Or to refute this? I have come across some pub med articles that explained how rhGH doesn't cause muscle hypertrophy. Just trying to get to the bottom of gh's actual effects.

There's evidence to suggest GH mat result in both hypertrophic and hyperplastic tissue growth.

Of course what effect predominates depends upon the tpecific tissue and the maturational age of the individual.

There is no doubt GH exhibits hyperplastic changes within the MS system in pubertal and prepubescent kido's.

GHs hypertrophic response in muscle is more difficult to quantify in the absence of both TT and insulin especially in "physiologic" dosages.

So it really depends upon the SPECIFICs of this discussion

Thanks Jim. It just seems there isn't a lot of info on any of this when it comes to bodybuilding. I guess bb'ers arent to crazy about having muscle biopsy conducted on them. The few I have heard of, were quite interesting.

Oh that's certainly true bc such research would essentially require an investigation on the "PED effects" of GH, try to get that thru a review board!

Now you know why many studies involving "high dose" TT/AAS collate data from nadir rather than peak values. Someone pinning 600mg of TT will have a level that approximate 6K ng/dl versus 2-3K at the onset of Steady state or 1k at it's nadir.
The net effect, we are forced to extrapolate existing data into that which is applicable to the sport of BB, yet avoid gross deviations from the studies design and/or objective less we fall prey ro BROSCIENCE intent,

Many chief editorial journal staff will simply NOT publish overdose "supra-physiological" data as they believe is will be utilized as a means of propagating the use of PEDs..

less we fall prey ro BROSCIENCE intent,

The comprehension issue is certainly not all your fault.

Since I'm usually on my feet at work and I "work" :) a lot much of what I post is done using an IPhone

However bc the IPhone screen is relatively small I often have go back and forth to make corrections once my comment is already posted.

However bc Mesos error window limits the amount of time to make such corrections to 15 min, some typos are inevitably overlooked as was the case above, which should read......

less we fall prey to broscience

Jim
