Agreed, thanks! No heart conditions as far as I know. He seems to have a creatinine score, but no BUN or eGFR.
Thank you for being aware of his body changes and taking the time to investigate.
When an otherwise healthy, active person "suddenly has 1 leg swelling" it may indicate a serious health condition or serious response from the body after introducing new drugs/medications combined with new lifestyle activities. The body is outwardly displaying a sign of distress or malfunction when only one leg is swelling suddenly.
I am not a doctor but I have graduated from medical massage therapy school, and one of the main "red flags" when charting a client's health before a massage session, is if they have sudden onset of edema in their body, the legs, and especially just one leg.
We would have to decline any massage work and strongly suggest to see a doctor ASAP.
Something with the blood flow (venous return) seems to be off or out of balance and that typically involves the heart. Please encourage your client to get checked by a doctor with the information that the swelling has been sudden in one leg.
