Help brewing L carnitine

Isotonic is around 300 mOsm
50mg/ml lcar is isotonic
500mg/ml is highly hypertonic at over 3000 mOsm
No idea about tissue damage, I would guess there would be some
Exactly very high so I guess no one is worried about that then…….dosing 500 or more mgs/ml which seems to be the most common

Has anyone seen Carnitine that's soluble in oil? Vendor claims it's oil based and someone purchased to verify.

TNE + Carnitine would be perfect.
GPT claims that esterfied carnitine would work but I wouldn't even know where to go for those.

Scrap that, it was water based.

Just made this recipe without trying to adjust ph and 1ml IM was completely pipless. Raws from bulk supplements. Also my first time home brewing anything. I’ve got faith in my cobetter filters, but I feel like a dirty, dirty bathtub brewer right now.
Did you test the ph? I just used distilled water for my first time brewing it but my ph is 8.67. Wondering if using pharma bac would have had it closer to the 7 range?

Did you add BA? That'd dropped the pH a little.
Distilled is around 7 and bac maybe 5-6. Either way some people do not get pip even without adjusting for pH.

Yeah 1.5ml of ba, 59ml distilled water, 50g carn. ~100ml total. Ordered some vit c to bring it down before I filter it into a vial. But may just filter 10ml now to see how it pips.

If you don't get pip then you can just forget about adjusting pH.
Talked me into it. Not trying to dilute it down any further anyhow. Going to try pushing concentration more next time as well. What’s the clear sign you pushed it too far?? Too much pip or it just stays cloudy and doesn’t dissolve?

No, I didn’t check ph on this batch. I used hospira bac water. I’ve got a ph meter now and plan to make my own bac water next time, but I don’t expect it to make a difference.

On my first Carnitine brew, I just used hospira bac water and it’s working out so far with no pip, but I’m now wondering if I ended up with the wrong BA concentration due to the displacement of the Carnitine? If I got 50ml of finished product using 30ml of premade bac water, do I only have a .0054% BA instead of .009%? I haven’t given my self an abscess yet, but I’m wondering if I should toss the rest and remake it? I have BA and WFI now.

You shouldn't use premade BAC water makes things a bit more confusing just use sterile water for injection and add BA or adjust the BA for the total volume yes.

Thanks. I didn’t have the WFI and BA yet and was eager to get started then I had a random thought this morning that it was probably the wrong BA concentration since the displacement is significant. I’m about halfway though what I made without issue, but I certainly don’t want to risk an abscess unnecessarily.

If you're unsure, throw it away. 30ml of carnitine doesn't cost a fortune.

That's 750mg/ml btw
30/(30x.6+22)
