This is my first time using the hand pump method. I can't get the pump to hold pressure. I have to repump it every 30 seconds. It has taken me 1 1/2 hours to filter 70mL. This is ridiculous. Have I missed something?

I read somewhere on another post that someone was having the same issues. The response was to make sure your bottles are screwed in tight to the filter and make sure there are no cracks in the receiver bottle.
I just ordered a couple glass receiver bottles to avoid such a problem with cracking.
Another post I saw that someone was using a pump from harborfreight, actually quite a few of them were using it.

I do construction as well. You wont catch Harbor Freight tools in my house. The second filter I used held the pressure fine. I think these .22 nylon filters are to much for oil. Even holding the pressure it took 3 hours to filter 200mL
I was warned about the .22 nylons thankfully. Hopefully its smooth sailing for you here on out.
Just following up. The first filter I used must of been cracked somewhere. The rest of my batches filtered. 200 mL took 3 hours though. I don't know how people get it done in 15 minutes, but it literally took 24 hours to filter all my gear.
