Guns

For some reason I thought I had posted a lot of my guns in this thread. I did a search for my name and read all my posts in this thread and apparently I have not done a very good job. I only posted three or four guns and some ammo so here we go...

My journey started when I was very young. My friends dad had dozens if not a 100 rifles, he also had a pre ban Bushmaster AR-15 A2. My friend and I were around 15 years old in high school and loved the thing, we shot it every single weekend on his land. Probably put at least 20,000 rounds through it in high school. One day in college he asked me if I wanted to buy it because a ban had happened on assault rifles. I said sure and it became the very first AR15 that I owned. Evil bayonet lug and all LOL. To this day this is the only rifle I've had to replace the bolt carrier group on because it was "shot out" from use.

My wifes first AR-15. I bought it a long time ago with all pink furniture thinking that she would shoot it more often like that. I was wrong, color did not affect her she actually preferred black rifles. I put a high-powered scope on it so if shit hit the fan she'd be shooting from a distance and not face-to-face with the ugliness.

After obtaining these AR15s I did what any normal college post-college kid does and bought a bunch of Glocks and Sig's a few 22 rifles and a bunch of shotguns to round out my collection. Most of these are not super rare or picture worthy but I'll never forget my first semi-auto "assault shotgun". The Saiga 12-gauge, made by "Izzy". This was a post 2005 production imported not by Europe by but the Russian-American Armory company. Probably only a thousand or so shells put through it and as you notice is painted like my first AR15 as well. Ready for shit hits the fan!

My kids first rifle. The Sig 522. They started shooting it at around age 7-8 after graduating from air rifles. It sits less than a foot from the back door so they can go outside and shoot it whenever they want. So now I've showed everyone my very first guns for the whole family. I'll post some more of my collection later on in the week hopefully.

Never shot one but pretty impressed that they got a 50 caliber round to fit an AK-47 bolt face in an AR-15 platform. Pretty ingenious. I wonder how much the rounds are?
Just looked them up, they are a $1.30 a round... really not that bad considering.

Yeh the whole setup is pretty ingenious an anything in a ar platform that's bigger than 450 bushmaster is fuckin awesome imo I mean its no long range gun the drop on thats gta be hefty at long range but for short to medium range home defence gun the stopping power makes me moister than oyster

Definitely just conversing and not arguing but where in the fuck do you live that you need that much lead to protect your home? @gr8whitetrukker summed it up very nice. The rounds you are talking about will pass through three houses. Lots of legal issues there. Stay safe brother.

Lol ny the state full of assholes but I deff agree that thing is overkill on another level I love guns tho even if I shot a few times a year I would love to have it I would get a barret 50bmg if I could even tho I know I would never use it just something about guns I love even if it just sits locked up 99% of the time
I blame it on to much GTA when I was younger lol

I know there’s always this conversation about knockdown/stopping power and larger and nastier rounds being cool and all but...if it’s a home invasion...I have a hard time believing a few rds of 5.56/.223 or some nasty personal defense rounds in a pistol caliber SBR doesn’t do the job of hailting the threat and avoids shooting through three of your neighbors houses....

I have a house full of kids so even 223 is overkill. Remington 870 with an extra full choke and bird shot/4 shot staggered is my choice.

Have seen some tests claiming 7-8 sheets of 1/2” to stop loan pellets with most of the load carrying through 11...

Don’t know if there’s a right answer for inside walls....

I plan on my "load" going through a torso before hitting the wall. But you make a good point. Nothing good is really going to come from having to use a weapon in a house full of family. @Sdryx has elaborated on what goes on after the smoke clears. Id rather just use my firearms for hunting and plinking.

Hope for the best plan for the worst gna be a shitty situation no matter what try to minimize extra risk without leaving yourself or loved ones in danger this might be fucked up to some people but imo better the bad guy an the neighbor get taken out than the kids and or wife lol I pray it never comes to that but ill put my familys survival ahead of everyone else in world I think its natural..or maybe I'm crazy Idk fuck it lol

At least I'm honest

You and your family living is ALL that matters. Do whatever it takes, neighbors be damned.

Judicious marksmanship and appropriate caliber can’t hurt though. Judicious marksmanship being the thing I think most people lack. The owning a gun isn’t the safeguard. The knowing how to use it is.
This, 100%
Your Home Defense weapon should be cheap in comparison to the amount of class/range time and ammunition you spend on it.
Since today is such a beautiful day outside I decided to do just this. Scenario is 2 bad guys at a range of 25 yards 6 foot spread between the two. Ideally I would like to engage them at 10 yards or less however 300 Blackout rounds on a ar500 steel Target means I need a little more range for safety. The scenario is the same regardless of range it's just is slower acquisition at this longer-range meaning my numbers aren't going to be as good as if I was 10 yards away. With all this said here we go.

Range, 2 baddies are 2 swinging IDPA targets at 25 yards.

Firearm used is my 300 Blackout 7.5 inch barrel pistol. Still modifying this weapon system.... almost done. Have Raptor charging handle elevated holographic sight and binary trigger group installed. I have the Magtech pistol grip ready to be installed but I'm going to wait until after painting.
20190224_152016.jpg

Average time to complete double tap on each Target is around two seconds my splits are less than 0.2 seconds with this trigger I love it.

Fastest was 1.82 seconds for 4 shots on 2 targets. Nice little 300BLK, starting to enjoy it more. I might bring my cardboard IDPA targets out at a closer range to see how quick I can really get it.

Some observations, this is my first time using an Anderson lower and I'm not completely sold yet. The Machining is fine but the pistol grip screw threads are less than desirable and just all-around it feels less well built than a Spike's lower. Since it's my very first time using them this is simply anecdotal evidence and should not be taken with more than a single grain of salt.

One thing I do need to tell you guys about is this cheap holographic sight from Amazon. I originally had this on my kids Sig 522 gun as they are really rough on things and if they broke it I was only out $30. The thing has been so bulletproof and held zero through so much that I decided to put it on one of my guns and now I've put it on several of my guns. It is just absolutely unbeatable for $30 and the field of view is better than my EOTech. Shocking absolutely shocking I don't know what else to say about this little gem you should go out and buy one or two or three of these and let me know what you think.

I was recently given 2 bump stocks from a paranoid friend. I have no plans of ever using them so if anyone's interested let me know
The king has declared those illegal. Might want to check out the executive order making those the most illegal plastic piece in the world.

Reclassified as a machine gun *rolling my eyes so hard at this*
Even Senator Feinstein who is as about as anti-second Amendment as you can get said that this was a dubious argument. Expect for this to be overturned sometime in the future so you might just want to hold on to them even though they are a 20 year in jail felony each.
With that said I've used bump stocks quite often and was unimpressed with their split times and accuracy. The new thing is binary triggers as they are much more accurate and as you see from my previous post have split times in the 0.17 range. If those are ever declared illegal I don't know what I will do.
