Guns

Also sorry for all the rhetorical questions like "do you know how loud a 10.5" barrel is" I forget this is the internet and rhetorical is completely lost in words. I'm sure you are quite familiar with how loud a firearm is considering you are using an AK-47 for home defense lol Anyway back to the question you were asking about 300 Blackout. I do like the ammunition choices that are currently out there my favorite ballistically speaking are the lehighdefense.com

Lol I know what you mean I have pissed off some of my neighbors before I have heard good things about the 300 blk it maintains a nice stopping power while still being able to reach out if you have to.one of the main reasons I have kept my ak is because I don't want to lose that stopping power but I feel its a little bulky even with the stock folded turning the corners just doesn't feel comfortable.I am considering switching for the 300 to maintain that stopping power but in a much smaller package

If you like the AK platform why not buy a “pistol” version? 300 works too but I know how AK guys can get :D

I agree with this 100% But stick with the AK platform and not the AR for 7.62 x 39 if that's what your used to. The AR needs some work to run the AK round and that means either milling out the bolt which weakens it (dangerously weakens it IMHO) or running a CMMG Mutant which runs an AR 10 bolt which is the only correct way IMHO.

Is that like the PSA hybrid I’m seeing everywhere ?

I don't own any Palmetto State Armory gear but I believe they run the 556 NATO Bolt, not sure though. They do have an AK-47 clone though not running the AR platform and the bolt is traditional AK

Lol I thought about it but my brother has one an when I used it i honestly hated it I don't like the feel of it I dont think they managed the recoil very well I personally just wouldn't be comfortable depending on it in a life an death situation I like the ak platform mainly because I prefer 7.62 over 5.56 as most of my shooting is at 100 yrd max an years ago 308 choices were limited to big ol battle rifles an that would suck to move through my house with but now with all the sbr versions an 10.5 inch "pistols" available there is a Lot more options for me to choose from

PSA has some good quality cheap stuff and some junk, I use they’re AR uppers with the FN barrels. They chew through steelcase like it’s good ammo :D I hate their lack of inventory, always out of stock.

I had an M85 5.56 AK pistol. It was fun as hell but in all honesty I’m not a fan of the AK. I’d rather have an Original Galil if I was going to use an AK type rifle. I’m proficient with it because I had to be but the M16/M4/AR is where my heart is.

I agree completely. Really wish they get their shit straight, the guy that owns it is a great patriot and I want to support him.

I've actually contemplated getting a Palmetto State Armory AR 10 with an 18-inch barrel to use as my 500 to 800 yard rifle. Nothing but great reviews online.
The problem with the AR-10 platform as you all know is that companies don't play nice together and parts are not interchangeable. If I go ArmaLite everything has to be ArmaLite if I go Palmetto State it all has to be Palmetto State or DPMS or equivalent.

Buy the PSA if it’s ever in stock

My FIL came over for the holidays and brought his inherited Winchester Model 94. This Model 94 was produced in 1954 which makes it a collectors item. It was a pre '64 model when Winchester redesigned the rifle to the the dismay of enthusiast's. The newer design just kinda fucked up the beauty of the old classic. These 30-30s mfg before '64 are pretty cool time pieces. It was inherited from gpa and he never even shot it during his entire life. My FIL brought it over and we broke it in together. These were my pins at 300 yards. Looks like the ol girl puts em where shes told.

Hes older than i am and cant shoot iron sites quite as well. He wants to put updated sites on this thing and im just like NOOOOOOOOO.
Id like to get one chambered in 30-30 or maybe even .44 or .357. Havent decided yet. Simply because its just plain cool. Henry Rifles has alot of cool offerings in this category. I may go that route.

Next on my wish list is a lever action. Doesn’t fit my “tactical” mindset but worth spending the money for just fun, I like them in .357

Yeah they got alot of interesting caliber offerings. I think i even seen it in .45ACP? But i like the idea of a .357 or a .44 just because its an old cowboy rifle and its nostalgic like that. The lever action on these model 94s are sweet. It feels like the guts of the gun are just dropping out lol. Simple and effective. And accurate as hell! Henry has alot in this category

I’ve got 2 PSA AR’s. One is just a carbine length and one is a pistol with a 10.5in barrel. Both are the premium uppers with the FN barrels. They eat any kind of ammo you want to use. Great rifles for the money!

The AR I built was a PSA with the FN barrel too. Best bang for the buck for sure! Only other thing I needed was the lower sent to FFL and rear sight/optic
