Guns

Where I am you can have and conceal anything. The problem is weed. If you have guns and weed you’re fucked
You're talking about medical in MI right? You're not allowed to have a legal gun and a legal grow right? That's so dumb, especially considering the probability of theft. I wonder if the grow is your name and the gun in your wife's name if it'd be legal.

I lost my gun rights before I even got em (felon at 17).

Love northern MI, I'm from Mid MI but my family has a cabin up by petosky. I get guest passes at the gym up there and I like it over any powerhouse/college/independent gym.

Medical MJ card, yes exactly. It is dumb

Petoskey is pretty. Busy but pretty.
Yeah I'm loving the attitude on MMJ though. I'm on Felony paper with a GPS tether in a rural county... and I'm allowed to smoke and go to the dispensary. My county doesn't even drop people for THC anymore.

Yeah Petosky really surprised me, I stay on walloon so I kinda have that "idea" of nothern MI. Which is probably more inline with how N MI really is. I took my girl to downtown petosky and it was the first time I ventured outside of the gym or a restaurant. The crowd of people reminded me of ann arbor or something, complete with a lot of asian women.

The crowd there or Traverse City is similar. I’m not living in either. More in the sticks with fewer people for me

My state is one of the tougher ones on gun laws. I hold a mmj card as well. There aren’t any restrictions from buying firearms while be a mmj patient. I don’t recommend carrying a firearm while on thc in any form however IMO i don’t recommend drinking and carrying a firearm either and booze is legal.

Not to many pot heads get stoned and shoot their wife or buddy over a disagreement. That’s usually stuff done by the likes of alcohol

Well I was never a gun guy, even when I was selling dope. I've always been a felon and I see so many of my friends get BBQ'd for felony fire arms I refuse to take the risk. It never really mattered... until I lived in a small mid MI city I won't name. My neighborhood was bad with property crime and over the summer I lived there I had multiple attempted and successful break ins on my car and home. I felt just like a sitting duck not having a gun.

Problem is I'm a grown man and a felon, the kids breaking in were like high school aged teenagers and black. Doubt shooting one would go over so well, haha.

Yeah man. You can’t kill someone for breaking in unless you feel your life is threatened. Best thing to do is get a pair of German Shepherds or pit bulls and train them to guard the house.

I just started going in the mornings, I get up at 3 drive to the city work is at, and hit the gym down there, then go to work. It takes some getting used to, but I feel great after I leave on my way to the job with a pump. I wasn't going during the week before, there are too many people at the gym after work and I had no energy, this way is better

Yeah, I know there's only certain states where you get away with "castle-law" or whatever they call it. The thing is if you own a pistol and you hear someone breaking into your house are you going to -not- grab it? Shitty choice either way I guess.

Unless you live in Oklahoma or Texas. Here we go outside, see them breaking into the car with a crowbar, a crowbar is a Lethal Weapon so of course we feel like our life is in danger so we kill them. Cops show up Slap us on the back, say "good job" and drive off with the dead Perp.

Another funny story. One evening or should I say late at night my friends were over testing out their new night vision scope. We were shooting 7.62 NATO on Full Auto (binary trigger group) at dark. The neighbors are quite a ways away but they have a commercial building and we're hosting some sort of commercial event over there and some of the city people that were up there were freaking out at the full auto night time shooting. Called the sheriff out. Sheriff came over to my property asked what we were shooting so I told him he said awesome have fun and drove off LOL

Any opinions on these two pistols:

S&W 642CT for in home defense gun. So I don't blow out my ears when firing inside without protection.

Kahr PM9 for concealed carry

I'm not a huge fan of small caliber revolvers for home defense unless it's for the wife's bedside table. 45 just makes way more sense to me but yes, god forbid you have to use it you might have permanant hearing loss.

I wish I could say something... anything bad about the Kahr PM9 but I cant. It's the ultimate CCW. That said I just dont "like it" as it doesnt fit my hands as well as others out there. If your hands fit well then I would go in that direction. Have you shot a few mags through one yet?

I bought sw airweight without the ct on it for the wife. It's not a bad gun. Hard double action trigger pull. My wife prefers her g 26 so the air weight sits in the safe.

For home defense I just use whatever my carry gun is for the day. More often than not it's my g 19 and a shotgun loaded in the closet.

Fun fact I was born partially deaf, so for home defense a .45 revolver and my shotgun are all I need. So if you truly want a home defense gun.

For .45
P220 or M&P 45 Shield

For Shotgun
Mossberg 590 or Remington 870
...or save a buck and go with the Maverick
