in my ridiculous state we are only allowed to carry 10 rounds per magazine. but we can carry as many magazines as we want. i carry when i'm with my family especially in public places. i have a sig p238 on my ankle with a spare mag and a sig p226 also with a spare mag on my hip. i wish i lived in a state where 17rnd mags were legal.

hope i never have to use it. if shit ever went down my first reaction is to run and get my family out of a mass shooting. but if we ever got cornered at least i have a chance.

i'm not a trained marine or LE so idk what i would do in a mass shooting. for all i know i may freeze up. a lot of people talk this and that but nobody really knows how they would react without training like armed forces or LE have. my thinking is at least i have a chance to get out.

US 1st amendment is only good if the 2nd stays in place. revoke the citizens arms you now have a gov completely in power

Same as my state. 10 rounds max. Gay ass shit. Can always pick up preban mags though. Not sure if your state allows that? I'm a masshole

i'd have to look into that. so after sandy hook shooting we knew the state was making big changes. so gun ownership like quadrupled in our state because everyone was afraid they were going to completely strip us of our arms. so everyone flocked to get their permits and everyone started hoarding large capacity magazines, thousands and thousands of rounds of ammo, semi autos, pre bans, probably fucking army tanks and attack helicopters! who knows. lol

so what the state was going for actually backfired on them. in this chaos they banned magazines over 10rnd for any weapon. they said if we already owned high capacity mags that we can keep them as long as we 'REGISTER' them with the state. this means they wanted us to fill out our info, write down what we have, how much we have then mail it in so they can keep a register. absolutely nobody did this. we all knew that means in short time they'll be knocking at the door looking to confiscate.

our state is extremely left. leftist know absolutely nothing about firearms, how hard it is to buy a gun, and actual data on death by guns so they went for blood trying strip all law abiding citizens of their right to carry firearms.

some statistics:
-roughly 20k murders a year by gun nationwide, about 50% of them are done by gang on gang violence and suicide. thats 10k deaths by gun for a country with 400million people. this number includes mass shootings.

-there are more mass shootings performed by use of hand gun (which is a semi auto weapon) than by assault rifle yet they want to ban assault rifles

-the toughest gun laws enforced are in the worst inner cities with highest murder rate by firearm.

-australia banned all firearms yet the rate of violent crime has increased
 
A 226 is pretty heavy on the hip brother, might convert you to the 1911 religion eventually :D
To the guy with the 4" STI... love it. That's why so many of us comp shooters choose STI, perfection but at a price.
 
Likely picking up the new Nightforce NX8 1-8x scope to put on my 16" AR. Wanted a varriable for a long time but thankfully held off. Lighter than the old 1-4x, daytime visible red dot of Aimpoint quality, other than price what's not to love.

Currently running an Aimpoint Micro which will go on a pistol build at some point.

this is a good example why stupid irresponsible people shouldn’t own a firearm. if something would have happened all hell would break loose. there’d be all the phony politicians calling for more guns laws and restrictions on responsible gun owners. it’s dumb people like this who make it harder on responsible gun owners to purchase, own, store and use firearms.

It's reasons like this that I taught my son at an absurdly young age everything about guns. By the time he was 6 he was familiar with my weapons and could recite the 4 safety rules all on his own. Ever since he was a VERY young child he was always taught to respect guns, knives and weapons in general as he knew and witnessed the power they possesed along with the serious attitude that I displayed towards them at all times.

He's less than 10. He comes with me to the range. He owns his own Ruger 22 LR Takedown. And I'll be taking him to the range again soon to put some rounds down range.

Although you just NEVER know for sure... I wouldn't be too worried about my son coming across a gun because he understands exactly what it is.

I know yours is still VERY young at age 3 and probably can't learn yet, but something to obviously think about if you haven't considered teaching a VERY young child about guns and taking them to the range at age 5 or 6.
