I guess I dont understand the purpose of pressure cooking.

I would ASSUME it's to sterilze the outside of the vial, but that seems like over kill.

Someone enlighten me?

We all lerning here, it work like pasteurization of the milk, beer or canning, will heat the content to kill all patogens. Its a extra safety.
