So what I would like to know is personal experience with the filtration vacuum pumps. Are they worth the money? I thought I seen that one filter was like 56.00 bucks! Anyone use them?

I assume you are talking about hand pumps? They are wonderful to filter large amounts of product in one shot. They have their own sets of problems too though.

If you are just starting then I think syringe filters are the best and personally believe some one new to brewing should be doing small amounts at a time. This gives you the opportunity to try different concentrations and mixtures, and if you lose a batch its not the end of the world.

The problem with pumps of course is 1. higher cost 2. transfer of product to injection vials 3. cracking

Well I'm no master brewer but damn 200 ml plus oil a session is a pain in the Ass. I have always done smaller fina conversions in the past so I never do much research on upgrading. But now I gotta upgrade. There a good place for the brake line bleeding pumps? If I went with glass and keep the psi low I should be ok right?

Yeah 200ml is a bit...I bought mine at Amazon, they have a ton of selection and pretty cheap..

I have cracked mine when I have tried to get greedy and add more to a unit that was sealed and had pressure. Even if I bled the pressure, then opened and added more it didnt seem to like that.
I personally like the Millipore Stericup filters because of the PVDF filter, but there are many options.
