Favorite movement/exercise at the moment

Lately I've been getting into bodyweight stuff, especially pull-ups and L-sits. Took some ideas from khanhtrinhvn.com—they’ve got some cool tips and setups for things like doorway bars that don’t wreck your walls. I’ve been using one from there at home and it makes it easy to knock out a set anytime. Definitely helped me hit more reps without needing the gym every time.

Do you have a freestanding rack like the ones you linked? Have you tried any olympic ring training?

I’ve always slacked direct bicep work for fear of a bicep tear deadlifting (primarily powerlifted for my lifting career) and always throwing it in at the end of a deadlift or back day, I’ve been adding in incline dumbbell curls and loving them. It is comical being able to standing curl 50’s-55’s (a bit of a swing at the top end of the rep range) and never seeing much growth come from them, to dropping down to 25’s and getting an insane pump and actually able to start progressive overload on an exercise again. They limit body English by keeping tight to the seat, and little no no ability arm swing, and I’m up a good amount of weight (35’s lol) and seeing direct but small size increase from about a month and a half of doing them. It’s awesome.

Try the classic concentration curl. Positioned properly, it removes any swing. If you're going from PLing to BBing it's a different training style. You want to get into the habit of pausing at the stretch to remove momentum from the movement. Greater fiber recruitment as well which translates to growth.

Man, hack squats are just built different, one of the best leg exercises out there. Heavy sets, burnout sets for 15–20 reps, they all hit hard. Leg day really is that “I’m dying but smiling” kind of training. I also stole a trick from Nick Walker and now finish every leg day with bodyweight lunges. Simple but brutal.

Yeah, sometimes I miss those wild gym days when I’d storm in like an animal, steal everyone’s plates, and load up the bar just to survive a few shaky reps like I did at 20. But now it’s all about smart training. More machines, less ego. I’m finally learning to chase muscle connection instead of numbers. The ego stays outside the gym, probably sulking in the parking lot.

Are the rings from Aliexpress any good? I don't want to invest half a fortune to just try to see if I like it.
My gym bag is 60l and stuffed with such accessories, like bands, massage balls, Theragun, straps, and what else.

The ones that look like this are ok.

If you are packing them up in a gym bag, there are a few small companies that make "minimalist" or travel gym rings that look like this. Some cost about $60us, the ones pictures are closer to $200

Some gym with TRX racks will have these. If you see a TRX setup in your gym, look through the accessories to see if they have these. They aren't really "rings" but you can do a lot of the same training on them.

Back has been my primary focus this go around rebounding out of my show. Finally feel like I’ve locked in some solid movements I can drive some real progress on this offseason. I’d say my top 2 are single arm barbell rows and close grip reverse grip pulldowns. Two heavy hitters I can engage very well on and pumps my lats up before I even get to my working sets!
