I am currently using MFP and I really don't like it. I dont like how once it hits midnight I cannot make changes or adjustments to the previous day. I don't like how the food search is done, and sometimes their generic "homemade" recipes can be off and I than have to go weigh everything individually.

What do you guys like and use?

Food Noms

Very simple, no ads, no annoying subscription needed, dark mode available, every feature imaginable

And I've tried many of them. Also the ones above but Food Noms is the best.

I just downloaded Food Noms. Past the trial, can you still use the barcode scanner?

Yes.
However, I dont use the barcode feature anyway, I use the search function and my meals are mostly the same so once I've found the correct food it is always suggested in the search bar anyway.

Keep in mind FoodNoms is tiny compared to the other apps, so I think there will only be popular brands on the barcode scanner.

I use MFP for many years now, you have to be careful when adding a food for the first time because apparently no one checks if the entries are valid or not and many foods are way off on macros. If you eat the same 10-20 foods everyday it's easy to use and accurate. Also i don't understand how can you not make adjustments to the previous day, i can do it no problem..for any day that has passed, it was never a problem. If you go and open the app after midnight it starts from the new day but you can always go to previous day and change whatever you want. Also you can create your own recipes, you add all the ingredients, you chose how many meals that is and you have perfect track for every meal. It's convenient and i really like it, although lately it's a pain in the ass though with the ads and the hurry to subscribe.

Switch to Food Noms. I used MFP for many years but compared to Food Noms i just sucks. The ads are what drove me away in the end.
I just use the free version and there are no ads and no annoying hurry to subscribe.
I sound like an advertiser but I just want to help out as they small (good) apps never spend as much in commercialising their product and hence they remain niche.

Myfitnesspal, nothing is better. I have tried switching but I always come back. Easy to use, huge database and nice design. It has it's flaws like doubling food/meals sometimes (it's a bug they can't fix). Sometimes it lags bad, but restarting app fixes it. Over the years it evolved in to possibly the best calorie counter.

Dude that thing is maybe the most annoying of all haha! When it first started there were couple days i was eating less because i thought i have less calories left to eat..then i'm like wtf dude, 120gr oats is 3 times instead of 1 lol. Now i'm always double and triple check but i'm used to it and i don't think i'll ever try anything else. I'm in the verge of going premium, we already spent so much money for the sport and an app like that for me at least it's extremely helpful.

I used Lose It for many years

It works off of the MyFitnessPal database.

Ads to upgrade to pro can be annoying, but not necessary.

Cronometer, free version has ads but they are extremely sparse and it has free barcode scanning. Same / similar database(s) for foods, has 99% of the foods you will scan including more niche ones, and you can add custom foods if you make the same recipe

My Net Diary. Free, dark mode, barcode scanner, I can adjust my settings to my liking, it’s got cool graphs and charts if you like that sort of thing, and gets pretty granular with the data.

3rd on Cronometer, been using it forever now and once you get used to using it, tracking flys by. Only gripe is I wish they had a lifetime membership option instead of a subscription, otherwise I wouldve bought the paid version by now!
