Favorite barbell?

What’s the difference between the Texas and Oakie bars? I’m kinda at that crossroads right now on which DL bar to go with—but I’ve never used one
Texas bar has more flex.Feppen has a point though under about 5-600 it’s not really noticeable unless you use bumper plates and it stack the weight way out on the end of the bar. I think the other major difference is the diameter of the bar and the knurl on the deadlift bar is a bit more aggressive. I’ll take any little bit of flex I can get

The weight thing is why I haven’t gotten one yet...I don’t have enough weight right now to pull 500+. So I’ll prob make my decision after the holidays when I get it.

So I've been using my new bar for a couple weeks now and its awesome. The diameter is thinner than my old bar, and with good knurling I can dead so much more. I'm not used to knurling with my girls hands and my palms will be raw after a workout. The only good thing about my old bar is that it trained my grip strength

That’s not even a true deadlift bar. It’s a regular power bar with better knurl. 29mm dia. I’ve used one extensively for bench and ohp, Rows etc. wait til you get your hands on a Texas Deadlift bar. It’s a whole new world. Thicker sleeves So it pushes the plates further out, 27 mm dia, so it flexes significantly more than any standard bar. They don’t call it the Texas spaghetti bar for nothing

My new gym has a Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar. I pulled a moderate single on it yesterday to try it out and the Texas Deadlift Bar is better in my opinion. Rogue bar is decent though, way ahead of a regular stiff bar.

Titan SSB tho...I’m right there with you, I believe they reverse engineered the EFS Bar.

Not gonna lie, the actual welding and craftsmanship is better on my Titan SSB than on my elitefts SSB. That thing was a POS. looks like it was welded by a 10 year old. The finish would flake all over my gym. Thank god I didn’t pay full price for it. I tried to leave a review on it on elitefts and looks like they only accept 4+ stars otherwise they reject your Review.

overall if you’re spending $ on a barbell and those small things matter. Nothing compares to rogue. I love my Ohio bar.

Would a Texas bar be worth investing in?
Do you train powerlifting? Do you compete in a fed that uses one? If yes to either then yes. If not I’d say no unless you have a garage gym and just want one for the hell of it. You’ll pull more on one than a stiff bar but all in all if you body build it won’t make you bigger.

The finish isn’t good. I bought mine from an elite level powerlifting guy who is from my area. Dude has hit over 900 on it a few times. I can’t say the Titan will hold up to that for sure. Also the elite FTS pad on that yoke bar is second to none

agreed the padding is the only thing worth it on that bar. Molded to my neck and traps when my Titan kind of just does the job and feel like It will wear overtime. The Titan is actually rated for the same weight. Holds up to 1500lb comfortably. Honestly lately elitefts put me off on the last few barbells I bought from them. Won’t be fucking with them again for that price. I didn’t really want to wait and they were in stock so went through with it.

It just like everything else. Have to pick and choose. Also depends where you live. For me Texas Power Bars covers the majority of my needs for powerlifting, if I want an SSB, I’m going Elite FTS yoke. A buffalo bar is another story, same with a transformer. Seems like Kabuki is the best bet on the transformer but I have a Yukon Bar from Titan( knock off duffalo) and it does everything that the Kabuki Duffalo does for 1/2 the price. The rouge bars are fine but I personally prefer the TPB line up based on knurling and the fact that I can support a local manufacturer.

There’s obviously other bars like the football bar, Swiss bar, oly lifting bars etc. Rogue pretty much has that sewn up. Same with plates. Elite FTS has the best racks for the money with Texas Strength Systems coming in second. Er racks and Rogue combo racks are probably Tied for 3rd. Kabuki is a bit overpriced on their bars as is eleiko with their whole line up. Just like fast cars, once you get to a certain level of mods an additional 10% gain costs 30% more. It’s up to the end user to decide if the increase(however small it may be) is worth the additional cost. I’ve personally done much research in this area and have used everything I’ve touched on here personally, I may open my own gym at some point. It’s just a pipe dream at this point though.

I'm not made of money so I can't really afford another bar, but I'll keep it in consideration.
