Favorite barbell?

I'm looking to buy a new powerlifting bar, but not sure what to look for. Whats your guys' preference?
Right now I have an old Rogue bar with almost no knurling. I've used some bars where it felt like it was cutting into me and would like to avoid that. Should I just stick with a newer Rogue?

I'm just going to throw it out there that I fell in love with the SSB. I'm sure rogue makes a great one but the yoke bar from elitefts was great. Can't exactly use on deadlift or bench though.

Texas deadlift bar for deadlifts is also great, it almost feels like it was cheating when you back to a stiff bar.

I have an Ohio with raw steel shaft. Best knurl I have ever felt. If you can take care of a raw bar get a raw Ohio/Ohio power bar. If you live at the beach or don’t want to oil get it in stainless.

Yes, all 3 lifts

I'm very impartial to the Texas power bar. Ive used both, TPB and OPB and prefer the Texas. Has better knurling IMO and just generally feels better. My gym has one TPB and like 5 OBP and I always pick up the TPB for bench days. Most Federations use the TPB

Kabuki also makes a awesome power bar. Buddy at the gym has one he locks up. Pricey but super nice and feels great. From what I've heard/read, you can't go wrong with an EliteFTS product either.

@Eman the Rogue SSB is trash compared to the Elitefts. My gym has both, a new Titan SSB and one of the first versions of the EliteFTS SSB with the long handles. Oh, we also got a Transformer bar also.

Transformer > EliteFTS > Titan > Rogue

No kidding! I actually just looking and noticed that rogue's SSB is cheaper than elitesfts' yoke bar. Rogue isn't usually the cheaper option for stuff. Although, Kabuki's products are all fucking insanely expensive... The squat bar is over $700... Fucking diabolical.

The transformer bar does look badass... It's one of those gimmicky looking things that actually looks like it would stand the test of time. It was actually reasonably priced though, I guess... I've had an eye on those every since Ben Pollack starting posting videos of training with them.

If anyone is in the market for a SSB, I'd recommend the Titan hands down. It's like $230 rated at 1500lbs. I'm almost positive they just reverse engineered the EliteFTS. The padding feels IDENTICAL. Which is my favorite part of the EliteFTS.

I too thought the transformer bar was going to be a gimmick. Definitely not ive used it in the front squat, goblet squat and high bar. All were very similar to those movements. Easier slightly, but not a ton.

That's a crazy price for a qaulity bar.
Going to have to look into that one myself when I build my gym next year

I think the TPB is where it’s at for one bar to do it all. I have compared it to Rogue Power bar and a west side barbell a few other cheaper bar like Cap and fringe. The TPB wins imo because the knurl and the thickness of the collars on the sleeves. The collars push the weights out about 1/2” further than the rogue and this prevents the plates from catching pins on a combo rack

Texas Deadlift Bar for deadlifts. I'm not as picky for squat and bench as long as it's not cheap junk.
What’s the difference between the Texas and Oakie bars? I’m kinda at that crossroads right now on which DL bar to go with—but I’ve never used one

I truly believe Kabuki is doing some innovative stuff—But their shit is soooo expensive. I wanted a Cadillac bar, but couldn’t come to grips with the price.

-You know how I feel about the Titan SSB tho...I’m right there with you, I believe they reverse engineered the EFS Bar. They did the same thing to Rogue with their Reverse hyper, lol.

it’s good tho, cos it allows guys like us to get in on this stuff.

I want to get an all purpose bar for now, but would it be beneficial to invest in a deadlift bar down the road?
