Effective Creatine Absorption

Hey yall. Just wanna ask, how do you guys take in creatine monohydrate? I mean, w/ sugar? Or just water?

Ive read a lot of articles in the net & mags. Some say you should take it w/ this, w/ that.

I wanna hear it from you guys.

What do you think is most effective based on your own experience?

I've always been a fan of regular creatine monohydrate mixed in with a protein. Monohydrate is cheap and works. I see no need for the uber-expensive creatine drinks.

It's recommended to take creatine with high-glycemic carbs. This apparently helps absorption to the muscles. The insulin spike that the sugars create helps the process along. I'm a big fan of replenishing with protein + carbs after a workout, so that's when I don't mind a good dose of the sweety.

Lately, I've been using Pre-Load by Optimum Nutrition. It's cheap - $16 for 4lbs.
 
Often I get the expensive carb + creatine for free so I use those, but I'm experimenting with leaning out a bit so now I have monohydrate with my pre- and post- workout supplementation.
