EAAs

Okay, so to start, any powdered amino acid supplement (unflavored) I’ve tried has this nasty, bitter taste that ruins my shakes. I’ve dealt with it anyways but I’m looking for an alternative because I don’t feel there’s any reason not to enjoy my shakes.

I’ve ran into the 100% Beef Aminos or the Uni-Liver Aminos in pill form by Animal. They’re inexpensive and have what looks like a nice profile. I figured I could just take a serving of those in place of the powdered EAAs.

Does anyone have any input on if these may be effective or if this is a shit idea?

Substitute the beef amino pills for a 10oz filet mignon. Be sure to include rock salt, it is excellent for electrolytes... fresh cracked pepper has numerous health benefits also and the potassium in it will compliment the sodium nicely, so add that in. Little bit of fresh garlic added at the end, very important for reducing cholesterol. Don't forget the olive oil, did you know it's one of the things that's credited with longevity in Italians?

Ask me about carb supplements, I've got a recipe for roasted potatoes that you can stack with the filet.

Bc there’s a limited amount of protein that can be stuffed into a pill, Id start by investigating grams of protein in each PILL.

And when you’re done compare any shake to the amount of protein in hydrolyzed supplement such as New Whey.

You get what you pay for!

Better yet as Eman opined your time is better spent learning how to COOK palatable high protein meals.

And what separates steak, chicken and fish since all three contain roughly the same amount of protein, in that a 4oz portion of either approximates 30grams, FAT CONTENT!

Yes, yes. I know this is all so true.

I think people would look at me crazy if I pulled out a T-bone between sets on the bench press and rubbed my greasy fingers all over the barbell...

What I mean to say is that I eat all of that daily and already have a pretty well balanced diet for the most part. There’s just certain times when I’m looking to supplement my diet, like intra-workout, that doesn’t allow for a gourmet sit down meal.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take the recipes and try them TONIGHT. Lol

I’d go with a naturally flavored eea product from either John meadows or muscelfeast.

Ya, the flavored powder by itself would work fine. My main issue is actually when I drink EAAs with my protein shake. Those shakes are like a desert to me and the bitterness of the unflavored powders is blaaaaah.

I just don’t know what the quality and efficacy would be with those pills.

I use Prime Nutrition EAA's for recovery a couple times a week from my more brutal workouts. BCAA's never did much for me but EAA's are effective for me.

Why do you choose to use them after all the controversy with John meadows?

I’ve definitely read some good research and seen good progress using EAAs.

He’s an ifbb pro bodybuilder who was the poster boy of the brand until he himself had it tested and it was well underdosed. Prime has a poor reputation in the industry.

I definitely know John Meadows but that’s good to know about Prime. I know he used to represent the company but I thought he stopped to start his own line. I didn’t know about those issues.

I have had zero issues with Prime EAA's having had several tubs now but thats the only product I have tried of theirs so can't comment on the legitimacy of their products overall. Regardless it's the only BCAA/EAA product that has worked for me so that's all I can say.

I think Jordan peters now reps for prime. Perhaps they cleaned up their act ...
