Membrane Filter Chemical Compatibility Chart
It deals with chemical compatibility not temperatures. I did a web search on temperatures for Nylon syringe filters and came up with various values from 50*C to 100*C, with 60*C being most common. 60*C is 140*F. I'm guessing (as I haven't brewed yet) that a hotplate set to 170*F is going to heat the liquid to somewhat less than 170*F but seems like it may get close to the specified limit.
I guess it's incumbent upon the user to check the specifications of the specific brand in use.
