Diet question

I'm trying to figure how many carbs do I need to start with when I began my diet? Right now I'm 250lbs. My condition is pretty good as I still have visible abs and veins running through my legs and arms.

This will be my 2nd show as I'm gearing up for the Jr. Nationals. I think I can come in around 230lbs with excellent condition. I will began my diet this Saturday which will give me 13 weeks.

What I was thinking about doing is starting my carbs out around 250 grams for the first three weeks. Then with 10 weeks out drop my carbs to 200 grams six days a week and bump them up on Saturdays to around 300 grams.

Then six weeks out drop my carbs again to 150 grams and run that six days a week and on Saturdays bump it to 250 grams. Then with three weeks began carb depleting. I'll drop the carbs to around 100 grams three weeks out and then 50 grams two weeks out. Four days before show time I'll began increasing my carbs little by little.

I'll bump it to 100 grams the 4th day and then 150 grams the 3rd day and then 200 grams the 2nd day and then 250 grams day of contest.

Not sure how any of this will work as I'm guessing. Please reply guys.

attached picture of offseason

This is a picture from last year. I weighed 235lbs and compete at 214lbs. My condition looks like this but just add 20lbs as I'm around 255lbs.

What did you do in regards to carbs when preparing for your last show? Were you satisfied with how you looked? That is the first place I would look and go from there. Good luck

correct

What's up thick. Last show was the first time I ever dieted so I really did not do well. I began my diet around 14 weeks but cheated so much that I really did not start getting serious until 8 weeks out.

It was so funny becuz it was the first time I ever diet in my life and I remember the first day I ate brown rice I was thinking "this is not going to work." So I began mixing my brown rice with campbell soup to give it a good taste, lol.

I did that for three or more weeks and then when I noticed I was not in shape I started getting serious. In any event, you're correct. Just grab what I did last year and then go from there.

I was just trying to get an idea of how many carbs many start with. I was thinking of starting with around 250 to 300 grams per day for the first three weeks and then drop that to 200 grams six days a week and bumping it up one day out of a week.

Seems like you had a really good year putting on a lot of weight and keeping the same bf%. Way to go. That is awesome. Really, you are in great position. You will learn from mistakes last time around and be set. Might want to give big traps(in the members pic section) or someone else who has competed recently a pm. They will be able to really pinpoint your needs. Good luck and take care
