Damn! I just got my 5 week labs back and my total estrogen is high! 153, where 135 is the upper limit of normal. I'm gonna have to change my Meso handle to Girlyman! Help help!  I'll post my other results when I have more time. Right now I've got to go and paint my toenails.

You aren't a girlie man yet. That's my distinction! Mines somewhere around 180 right now. Odd thing is my lab doesn't provide a range or max for men on this, only women.

Maybe with estrogen that high, they just assume you're a girl! :D

Hey, you busy Saturday night?

But seriously it's no wonder you and I both have water retention issues.

After 8 weeks on 100mg/week of Test Cyp, my Estradiol was only 17 on a scale of 13-54. Everything else was within range with the exception of DHT which was 166 on scale of 26-75.

So, no, not everyone gets elevated Estrogen from 100mg/week of Cyp.

Each persons genetic response will vary. But your Docs should adjust your cycles. Yes HCG can increase estrogen levels. It all depends on how much aromatase your body produces. The body is just seeking homeostasis. A real delicate balance. True during one day the androgen naturally vary. Its all part of the dance. anabolism-catabolism. But water retention is nothing to treat lightly. It can cause High Bloood Pressure. Squezze your heart and cause it work even harder then it normally does. Adjusting your electrolytes might help. Drink lots of water.

My E2 is fine as well, in the lower third of the range. Just my total E is high.

Yes, I'm on 100mg cyp. Have had my heart checked and there's no CHF. In fact, since starting TRT my BP has been better than ever! I'm now consistently betweenm 115-120/60-70. My heart rate hasn't changed any though...still a nice 55-60 bpm sitting.

I drink plenty of water too, although I'm thinking of doing a "body cleansing". Basically a detox product which helps get rid of a bunch of toxins in yer system. Can't hurt.

I assume you mean a colon cleansing. I've been thinking about doing that too. If you would, could you let me know what you use and how that goes, either by post or PM? (PM... rhymes with BM... heh heh) Swale, what is your opinion on body/colon detox, and do you recommend any particular product? Yeah Weatherlite, please let me know, so that then I can call you "Hosebutt." ;)

Hosebutt--I do not recommend any particular products, as I am not qualified ot do so. However, I am aware that the crud (medical phrasology) that builds up within the colon also stores all manner of toxins, for slow release into the body. I suspect this is at least partly why those who enjoy a high fiber diet are at decreased risk of colon cancer.

At this point, I do not know how to interpret high Total Estrogen in the presence of normal (even low-normal Estradiol). The Armidex I prescribe controls E2, but may leave Total E's high. I cannot even propose a mechanism for this at this time--but am working on it.

It's a conspiracy between me and Weatherlite, designed to make your work more interesting. So you see Dr. Crisler, we're doing it all for you.

HOSEBUTT??!!?!?!?!!!!!! hehehe Nice one guys. Now where did I place that explosive device???? You do know I'm on the bomb squad right? That means not only can I disarm them but I can build em too!!!! *insert evil laugh here*

No, I'm not doing the hose in the butt thing. I'm going to try an ORAL product that is supposed to make you poop like crazy I guess. I don't know much about it yet. My wife is still reading up on this. Will keep you informed.

The "purge" is old technique. My uncle told me when I was a veggie that I should try an epsom salt purge. To extreme for me. Lots of cramps and forget about doing anything for a day. I used to use a vegetable juicer. One day I drank 12 oz's of fresh spinach juice. I woke up in the middle of the night and actually filled the toilet with a giant dark green turd(medical terminology;)). I grabbed my book on juices and found out that spinach is a purgative that you should not drink more than 4 oz'a at a time and dilute it with apple juice. OOps!!
A small point. There are 2 types of fiber. Soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber is water soluble and goes into the blood stream and is purged by the kidneys. It takes some cholesterol with it. Insoluble fiber is indigestable and passes straight through the intestines. Some believe that it acts like sand paper scrapping the colon clean.

I'm gonna use a product called Detox-7. It's a drink mix with some caplets.

However, my wife showed me the following recipe for cleansing the colon orally. This only works if you have access to a health foods store...we don't here so that's why I'm trying that Detox stuff.

2-4 capsules of psyllium hulls
2 capsules of cascara sagrada
Chase it down with a glass of organic apple juice with a tablespoon each of aloe vera and liquid chlorophyll added.

This is taken every day.

I suppose you could use regular apple juice...this is just what they recommended. Also, they say to do this for a week or two. It also states to try this either on a day off or during the weekend so that you can judge the effects it has on your colon. I guess it would suck to suddenly have the runs while at work.

Psyllium hulls= Metamusil, there generic forms available at Wal-Mart and the like.
cascara sagrada is a herbal laxitive you can order it online at www.1001herbs.com/cascarasagrada

Any fruit juice can be used. Heck you can use water. Fruit juice just makes it taste good. Aloe and chlorophyll are added to to make it gentler. I think its just to jack up their profits.

Swale- Thats why I like the term roughage when refering to sources of fiber:).

FF, my wife wants me to ask you if you have a juicer to recommend. We've seen far too many damn infomercials to be able to tell the difference! Also, do you have any recipes for what to do with the pulp?

Thanks!

It was 30 years ago:(. I haven't kept up on juicers. The one I had was slightly under powered but still got the job done. You should get 12 ozs of liquid for every LB of whatever you juice. I miss it. Nothing like fresh cucumber juice on a hot day. Watermelon juice is like candy. Put the pulp into a compost. Maybe carrot pulp can be used in carrot cake. I don't know. I always threw it out. If you ever juice an onion steer clear of the pulp container when you open it up. The fumes are so strong it'll knock your head back. Radish juice tastes like whiskey:).
