Cutting Workout

I'm probably posting in the wrong place, if so, I apologize.
Anyway, I'm in my mid-40's and throughout my life I've pretty much done a powerlifting style workout (with some powerbuilding thrown in). I haven't truly paid attention to my physique, consequently I've gotten a bit of fat on me now. I've been doing 5/3/1 for a while and I'm on TRT.

I know that diet is what I need to focus on and I'm going to be doing that.

Here's my dilemma, I realize that when I start really honing in on my diet that I won't be able to lift as much as I'm accustomed to. I don't want to ego lift and injure myself and I'm afraid that if I do my standard workout that I'll push it and do just that.

All of this is to say that I'm looking for workout suggestions. As I said, I'm used to doing workouts around bench/squat/overhead press/deadlift. I'd like to maybe go away from that, maybe throw in some cardio, maybe some HIIT.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

Wendler 531 that's a serious powerlifting routine. I'm my opinion at ur age mid 40's that's asking for trouble enless ur mike otren I think even for me in my mid 30s 1 rep max is useless anything under 5 reps really. I started doing powerlifting for football and kept heavy training for a few years, later when I started doing more volume and working on contracting the muscle not just pushing weight I gained way more mass and got harder.

I’ve ran 5/3/1 (multiple versions) in a cut no problem. All of 5/3/1 is mild and I feel like you’d be hard pressed to hurt yourself (compared to another style) while running it in a fat loss.

Hell they have 5/3/1 fat loss templates lol

If you like wendlers stuff just keep running it, clean up your diet, and do some daily cardio. Nothing crazy, 30 minutes on an incline at 2.5-3mph a few times a week will make a difference coming from bad diet and zero cardio
