lionel said:So whats the deal on how to take creatine now? Load or don't load in the case of monohydrate.
dumbbellpress said:I have been on creatine nonstop since Jan 1998. LOL yes for 6 years straight.
When I first started I took 5 grams five times per day for 7 days as a load.
Now, I take 5 grams 1 hour before I workout and five grams immediately after my workout, along with an NLarge weight gain shake. Seems to do the trick for me.

Creatine serums. liquids, etc are all crap. You are buying a junk product. Only buy a powdered product.Buff Diddy said:What a relief reading this thread. Cause i've been on creatine myself for at few years now but at small doses for a while. I usually take a scoop of betagain (2g creatine 1g hmb and 500mg glutamine) on workout days. If i could afford it I would go with dimaxx german creatine serum all the time. It works and is extremely safe. But at $50 a bottle its a little out of my budget right now. I've must of spent at least 300-400$ of it in the past. I'm going to stop taking creatine while I'm on my next cycle and then get back on to help preserve my gains. Creatine is the bomb.

gyno_ghost said:Have you suffered any GI side effects from your continuous usage? I used for roughly three straight years in almost the exact fashion you have--loading, then maintaining--and I came down with a nasty inflammatory stomach condition. I'm not one of these folks that sues the manufacturer when something goes wrong, and I don't even have conclusive proof that the creatine was responsible. Nevertheless, I'm curious to see how you feel and if you've suffered any negative effects from your usage. I would love to go back on but don't dare risk it, personally.
GG
Man that shit just happened to me the other day and i was on the ground rolling around like a lil bitch, man that shit sucks made me hate doing absdumbbellpress said:From everything I have read, 10 grams/day (5 grams pre and 5 grams postworkout), even on training days, is plenty. Personally I feel that 20g/day is overkill.
For the last 6 years I, along with several of my friends, have been using Optimum Nutrition Micronized Creatine powder. It is Creapure - the highest quality you can get. And you will not find a better price on the planet - 2000 Grams micronized Creapure powder for $34.02 at www.jesupgym.com --- best deal on the planet. I always take a heaping teaspoonful, dump it in my mouth, drink a huge amount of apple juice, swish the juice/creatine up in my mouth for about 30 seconds to dissolve the creatine, and swallow the mix.
A fairly common SEffect of creatine seems to be GI distress. A buddy of mine simply cannot use creatine as it caused significant GI cramps. The rest of my buddies have absolutely no problems with it. I myself have never had GI problems with creatine.
The only downside of creatine for me is on ab day. On ab day, if I have not drank a SHITLOAD of water preworkout, then on about my third set of crunches, my abdominal area goes into massive tetany. If any of you have ever exprienced tetany, particularly in the abdominal area..............let's just say that I would rather get assraped by Osama Bin laden then have to go through that. on MANY occasions, on ab days when I have not drank enough water, and on my third or fourth set of crunches - the pain from the abdominal tetany is so excrutiating I was reduced to tears - I have been reduced to tears MANY times on ab day.
My advice to you guys using creatine - drink a tremendous amount of water.
