Here in the states they call that a “tiny home” and demand about 100k for it lol. Nice work big guy as always.

For base board, I use a LIGHT gauge nail and shoot the fucknout of it.
You can actually cover it up with paint if you go light enough.

If I dont have that option (5/8 board, or a lath and plaster) I'll go with glazing putty.
No.58 or some shit.
Will never shrink and takes the paint well.

But honestly, dap will do it unless you have some pretty decent gaps and holes.
You'll only get noticable shrinkage for large ones

Drydex like @HIGHRISK mentioned works great.
Just dont go too hard on the sanding, nice light grain sponge or you'll just expose your hole again.
I found some stuff called patch and paint. I filled all of the holes but haven't tried painting it yet. Seems like it did ok though.

Sad this thread is on page three so big bump. I know Big Kap was a mainstay on here so will definitely tag him.
Was looking for some advice on laying flagstone. Irregular stone. Laying it on solid rock. Sand , screenings and mortar for the base. Rubber mallet each stone down into a three inch layer of this base. Soak with water after the rock laying process is done. Mix mud of sand and mortar to fill the gaps. I plan on forming the whole thing up but here is my question. Better to leave a “border of cement” all the way around the stones or have the stones make up most of the border and just cement the joints out to the edge? Hope this makes sense. Lol
@kap73

Thanks.

Hell yea. I liked doing that work. Excavation, forming and rebar I loved. I hate pouring.
Preferably in the spring or fall. Summer and winter not too much. Lol
I do concrete for a living so I’m a carpenter I just like building shit

Whichever you prefer the look of. Either way is fine, I lay it out according to my clients preference.

Any of you ever built a shower/bathtub combo out of tile without using a pan?[/
I don’t recommend it. You want that sealed up, just tile and grout is not adequate. I use a vinyl pan and silicone all of the seams, then put a mortar base on top that bevels to the drain. For the walls use a concrete backer board with something like Redguard and fiberglass strips to float out the seams. Then use silicone to seal up the corners. Tile on top of that. I’m sure you can find a YouTube video for a visual aid.

I wouldnt do that either.
There are some great epoxy style fiberglass pans now that make it SUPER easy, but you need some form of total Vapor/water barrier or you're asking for trouble in the future

What about that orange rubber stuff they put down before they put the mud bed? That wouldn't protect from water?

Schlueter Kerdi tile base?
No,
It has a fibrous surface for solid bonding of mortar bed.
I dont trust them.
There are some awesome systems with a roll on Epoxy resin that are gorgeous

I'm gonna have to look into this more. I really wanna make it work. It looks awesome if done correctly.

I hope @kap73 is doing ok and his daughters surgery went well.

Still alive, just living life with a little less digital these days.

Small video wall for a local schools media studio. They'll have a sound stage built and all that. The wall is finished and the control systems all wrapped up. No pics though, so it didn't happen.IMG_20200820_080050.jpg
