I also know people the have money and just don't want to use time to research and rather hire people which is cool too.
I think this is a bit disingenuous. Just because someone has the knowledge and experience to manage their own diet and training, doesnt mean its always the best option.
We, as human beings, are REALLY bad at analyzing ourselves and our actions objectively, a coach you trust is a tool to overcome the self targeted shortsightedness we as a species have. Coaches help us remain objective and break away from any subconscious biases we may have.
With an experienced/knowledgeable client the coach/client relationship should be that of discussion, it should be a team effort to come up with the game plan that best reaches your goals, they are your advisor and council, not your boss.
outside of these factors, its just easier to have a coach handle things for you.
How many electricians want to rewire their own home, if they have the money to have it done?
How many contractors want to build the deck that their wife has been asking for, if they have someone they trust thats able to do it?
I find that both sides are true for myself.
Despite having the knowledge and experience to do my own programming, and being a coach myself, working with my coach has uncovered subconscious bias' and tendencies that were counterproductive to my progress.
likewise, on top of doing other peoples diets and training, i found that i was neglecting the effort and attention needed for my own, so working with a coach removed all the introspection and self evaluation as well as minimized the effort put into my own programming to allow me to focus on what actually mattered. Executing that program.
