City of Grit's first go at powerlifting

I remember getting toothpicks to stick in the blinds so I didn't have to hold them. I was insanely paranoid that night I kept running outside thinking someone was in my neighbors yard. It was was of those old cowboy cutouts lol. I must have ran up on it at least 10 times that night.

Yeah, there were many times I'd be convinced I saw searchlights and cars driving back and forth and it turned out to be streetlights shining through trees blowing in the wind.

I had a buddy that would swear he saw cop cars out on an empty street in broad daylight. Anytime he did meth he would have severe paranoid hallucinations.
 
I used to know these identical twin brothers that were like that. They'd always see guys in camo and shit. Told me one time there were cameras everywhere in the trees in my yard and he could see the red lights blinking on them all. I asked him why they'd put red blinking lights on spy cameras lol.

This one night one of them went out in my yard for hours and then comes busting in the house and says two SWAT vans just pulled up in the neighbor's yard and they were all getting geared up to kick the door in and then took off running outside.

Bring back some funny memories.

I remember I scored some shitty coke once... was laced with God knows what, I think bath salts.

Couldnt leave my room for 11 hours, was too paranoid to even go to the bathroom.

I thought there were police in my house and if I opened the door they would find me.

That was a wake up call for me.
Havnt touched anything for about 7 years now.

That and I caught a look at myself in the mirror after starting to smoke crack a few weeks earlier.
Scared me shitless.

Now I dint even drink or smoke weed lol

That was my buddy to a t. I was there the first time he hallucinated and he was never the same after that. We were up in a clear cut in the mountains, smoking meth with a couple of sisters we knew. We were high as fuck and my buddy asked me if I wanted to race up a hill toward a logging flag on the tip of the rise. So, we ran up that hillside...when we reached the top it was like a light switch got flipped. He turned around a d asked me if I could see the laser pointers aimed at us. Swore there were guys in the tree stumps. He saw the slash marks as people's faces. He was never the same again. He died from a heroin overdose a few years ago.

Yeah, I feel really lucky to have made it out and be mostly okay. So many didn't.

Man, that's strange.

I had a buddy who had a similar experience.
Tons of Acid followed up with a Peyote trip.

He never came back from it.
He was heir to a construction fortune. (His old man even had a private jet)

Died a few years ago in a motel room, his junk has fentanyl in it.

Shit happens.

Makes you more understanding and better guys imho, having seen the shit you guys have seen.

I'm really counting my lucky stars I never went down the rabbit hole like you guys did.

I find it funny that we have similar stories and histories...and here we are in a powerlifting forum. How random..although I don't believe in randomness. It's really pretty awesome.
 
Damn y’all wild. I’ve been in the gym or on the road running since I was 16. Definitely did my share of partying in my 20’s. Smoked some weed tried coke a few times and drank myself into jail once or twice but steroids is probably the harshest drug I’ve done ,lol

I relate to this, but most of my partying was in my teens. Weed and liquor... Hardest thing I’ve done was some opium, because my buddy’s older brother thought it would be funny to lace our weed with it when we were 15 lol. Fuckkkk. Did coke twice and some adderall a lot when I was gaming lol. never really got into anything else.
 
I'm really glad you guys overcame it and left it behind you. Some people really can't and it's so sad when you see what it does to their lives and their families.

My sister being the way she was from 16 until now at 40, was the perfect example for both my brothers and I of what to not become. It turned us all right off of anything harsher than drinking and weed mostly. None of us wanted to turn out like her and watching her and her life constantly spiral out of control.

She never did get her shit together for even a small amount of time. She has multiple holes in her lungs so when she's inhaling she has that shit going into her body with only some of it being exhaled. She has had multiple doctors tell her if she doesn't stop she'll be dead within five years. I just don't see her stopping. You name it she's taking it. She's 40 but looks around 65 (not joking).

Agreed it's crazy the similarities.
I've lost a lot of people to that lifestyle the worst was a few years back.
But glad everyone here made it through that struggle.
