Cholesterol meds.

Please be warned about niacin flushed. Have you taken it lol?

if not you are in for a treat.

imagine sun burn x 10 and then someone slapping you as hard as they can.

i didnt understand when someone said this. But full flush niacin and sunburn must hit the same receptors/nerves cause its the same feeling and my body turned red.

taking it on an empty stomach is not a good idea.
I don’t believe I ever took it on an empty stomach and the flush only lasts 15-20 minutes.

Starting at 1000 is insane!

Yeah, I underestimated how unpleasant the flushing was gonna be, lol. I figured it couldn't be that bad if they sold that dose over the counter. I was wrong. It was like a horrible, itchy sunburn.

I'm trying to get my cholesterol down again now. I'm hoping going down to 150mg of a test a week will do it. If not I might revisit the niacin thing.

I've tried it before in a supplement, I want to say 300mg.
Didnt do a LOT, I was a bit flushed and warm, but not bad.

But you're right, best to start low at like 250mg a s work my way up.

How long do you guys usually run a niacin protocol?

@Perrin Aybara , worked well for your LDL I presume?

Revisit the Niacin around 250 or 500. 500 may be harsh as well.

I don't know, I only took it the one time. I would suggest not taking 1000mg your first time.

I actually enjoy the flush. But it hits me like high dose Beta A, which I also enjoy.

Maybe I'm just weird?

Take 10mg a day of Lipitor and quit fucking with. Statins are life saving drugs and do so much more than lower cholesterol. Personally, I think almost everyone over 40 should take a small dose of statin.

I've taken 10mg/day of simvastatin for the past 10 years. It was a given that when I went on TRT I went on a low dose of simvastatin to help keep cholesterol in check. It's still usually out of whack, but not nearly to the degree it would be not using it.

It's simply not natural to be hitting 200mg a week, or even 150/wk of testosterone into our 30's, 40's, 50's and beyond. Therefore, why would it be natural to have perfect cholesterol either while doing this?

Do some of these supplements work? Maybe to some degree, but IMO when the point comes that you may need something daily to stay in range then don't ignore it
