Child rapist from Wister sentenced to one year in prison

McALESTER A Wister man charged with raping and sodomizing a 5-year-old girl has been sentenced to one year in prison.

David Harold Earls pleaded no contest last week to charges of first-degree rape and forcible sodomy as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

Prosecutors say they reached a plea bargain after consulting with the victim's family and out of concern about the 5-year-old's ability to testify in the case.

Under his conviction, the 64-year-old Earls will be required to register as a sex offender for life after his release from prison.

Earls' attorney could not be reached for comment.

I actually googled this just to make sure the facts were in order because I thought the penalty was possibly wrong. I cant believe the sentencing on this at all. It makes ZERO sense, and ZERO justice has been done. The punishment just doesnt fit the crime. I totally agree with dennis on this one. If more penalties were as extreme as dennis described, I bet many petafiles would think twice. This really makes me mad!

And in the same state they are Prosecuting bodybuilders for posession of steroids. They charged a female firefighter with a felony.

Someone should ask the judge and the DA in these cases,"who would you rather have have for a neighbor, a bodybuilder or a registered sodomizer of 5 year old girls? "

Probably not. You could got to the joint for several years for using steroids. Has that ever dissuaded you....????

I think the punishment should fit the crime. Using AAS doesnt hurt anyone other than the user if not being done responsibly. Rape of any sort being a woman or child should be an extreme radical punishment.
