I read that those who do not chew hard food on a regular basis, their gastrointestinal tract starts to work worse and their teeth begin to deteriorate. I don't know how much this is trueChewing is an important part of digestion. Even on a liquid diet. It produces saliva full of digestive enzymes. Chugging down a chicken shake may not be the best for digestion.
What about micronutrients? How do you get those??
