can’t stay asleep

I'm not a fan of SSRIs either. But you mentioned Trazodone, which is also an SSRI, right? So you don't use it all the time?

And about Fluoxetine, does it make you sleepy? Do you usually take it before bed? I've seen reports that it can cause insomnia.

Trazodone is an older class of anti-depressant known as an SARI. It has a pretty short half life, so I've used it on an as-needed basis before bed. It really works well.

Fluoxetine has a very long half life, so it's not something you use right before bed. It takes about two weeks to build up enough that I notice a difference, but that difference is very noticeable. It does not make me sleepy. Its main effect is that it keeps me asleep, which is what I have the most trouble with.

I've heard it can cause insomnia in some people, especially in the first couple of weeks, but that's not the case with me.

If you do take it, 5-10mg/day is enough to get maximum benefit. No study out there supports the insane 20-40mg doses that doctors hand out these days.

Thanks, man! But you only use Fluoxetine for a short period of time? Because it's an SSRI. And do you taper off that dose afterwards?

Well, I'm gonna give one of these Gummies a try tonight and see what they're all about, I'm in the process of lowering my trazodone dose from 300 mg down to a more reasonable dose, which will be determined at the end of my experiment currently at day 5-6 of 200 mg per night and I'm having mixed results so far, last night for instance it seemed like I was awake way earlier than normal. I woke up at 1 AM at my usual time to pee and then had a hard time falling back asleep , in and out of sleep and finally giving up and getting out of bed at 5 AM , my current sleep stack is as follows:
Trazadone 200 mg
Magnesium bisglycinate 210 mg
Apigenin 50-100 mg (currently experimental with dosing)
L theanine 200 mg
Glycine 3 g
(DSIP occasionally, not every night) just using it because i have it and don't want to waste it, but it doesn't seem very effective to me personally

Forgot about this thread. But easier to remember now that I can't post in Underground because I hurt some feelings and apparently someone's wallet. My sleep has continued to trend positive since I've come out of a very long deficit. At 2800 calories per day, which so far seems to be a solid maintenance level. Body fat staying relatively level with lean gains picking up. Some nights I still wake up at 3AM but go back to sleep fairly quickly. Nothing like before where I just went ahead and said fuck it and made coffee for a very early start to the day. A few nights I've slept through it even, which is remarkable. Sleep a lot deeper, too.. dreaming a lot more.
