i never registered before because everyone said that i could just do it at the polls if i brought a piece of mail. so i save a bank statement from last week but now my roommates just got back and said they got shot down because the people at the polling place said the mail had to be a utility bill. this sucks becuse the utility bills that come to my house are all in myroommates name, not mine. is this true?????

It depends on where you live. In many states the registration deadline was a week or so ago. Other states, like Wisconsin, you can register at the polling location. Check out www.mypollingplace.com and call your county auditor to find out for sure.
