Is your doc prescribing these, or are you just using them on your own? Either way, it's not a good idea to see how many different antibiotics you can go through before you die. It could very well be viral too, so antibiotics may not even be the correct route in the first place. Hell, snorting some warm saline/lemon juice homemade sinus cleaning cocktail is usually the best place to start. They just isolated an antibiotic strain of Salmonella this past week too.....just have to love the docs that prescribe antibiotics for everything

well hope you're feeling better. to answer your question, i don't think your muscle weakness has anything to do with the anti's. probably more to do with the fact that you're sick and your body is run down

MY SINUS INFECTION WAS PRETTY BAD,HORRIBLE SMELL AND TASTE ALL THE TIME;VERY TIRED,PAIN IN MY CHEEKS.i had a cat scan and my sinus was very inflamed. different anti biotics work better than others for certain strains of bacteria. i had a cultire of my sinus to finally determine which anti biotic would work best. it was determined that clynamysian was the best.after the first 2 did'nt work, they wanted to perform surgery so i i got a second opinion. after reviewing my cat scan he also thought surgery might be a neccessity but did the culture and prescribed the new anti biotic as a last resort. it seems to be working. a sinus infection IS NOT VIRAL;its an infection and they are very hard to get rid of;they are not like sinus problems you get from a cold. your sinus is literally filled with puss.did you ever get an infection from a cut or an injection? picture that feeling bit in your sinus. thanks for the responses.

My point, although not clear, was that a culture should have been the first thing they did. it's moronic to prescribe antibiotics without knowing the target. that puts you in harms way and does nothing to benefit the rest of the world either. The doc approved a CT scan but held off on a simple culture
It's not your fault, but that's just poor medicine.

Also, Some of the stronger antibiotics are known to rob the body of B6 which can cause a general weakness and fatigue. You might want to add extra B vits in addition to your multivitamins.

It is indeed appropriate to prescribe antibiotics for a chronic sinus infection of bacterial etiology. The problem with the architecture of the sinuses is that gunk (medical phrase) gets deposited in the maxillary sinuses--the ones which are aching so much for you, right behind your cheeks. It cannot drain from there, because the opening is at the top. So the white blood cells have to come in, chew it up, then be reabsorbed. Thus you have the rotten smell which is so personally (unless someone gets too close to you) offensive.

This is also why antibiotic treatment must be long term. A "short" course of antibiotics would still be a full 21 days. Augmentin is first-line treatment of choice.
