Bulking on cycle

What kind of weight gain should I be shooting for while on cycle. Been on TRT 160mg/wk for a year now. Started my first cycle last week. Relatively mild @ 300mg/wk Test only. It only been two weeks. From my experience over the last four years I put on some water wt immediately after I raise my calories 4-5 lbs. That being said I’m probably only a 1-1.5 pounds up not counting the fore mentioned let’s say 4 lbs of water wt. I think that’s a good place to be I have up my calories from 2800 to 3000 for 10 days and have since moved up to close to 3200. Assuming the wt gain per week is at a good place should I keep eating the same amount till I stop gaining then up it, or be proactive? I don’t want to waste my time, but at the same time I don’t want to put on too much unnecessary fat. Any insight or advice is welcomed.

I realize this most likely varies from person to persons and I just need to pay attention to the scale and adjust accordingly

there is a good video from RP strength on YouTube that covers this. He recommends like .5% or total body weight gained a week or something.

Me personally, if I’m bulking and blasting I wait a week or two for the scale to level out and then start adding. I shoot for a couple pounds a week personally. I’m fat, genetically unlucky, and suck, so I want to make sure everything I can control to promote muscle growth is there aka we gonna have enough food.

Just recently scale weight was 209 6 days in a row so I upped the calories. Prior to the calorie numb I was only eating ~500g carbs so I upped my carbs (I had room, as In I can eat more real, solid food). If I was close to my limit of what I can physically tolerate volume wise I’d start adding easy calories aka fats.

This is just what I’m doing. It’s not advice. I suck and shouldn’t be used as a guide.

I appreciate the information, I think that is the right thing to do. I probably won’t wait more than a few days of weight being stable before I add more calories.
I’ve probably watched the RP video, I watch a lot of them

By the way you don’t suck my friend you are just learning like a lot of us. Don’t beat yourself by putting yourself down. I have struggled in that department as well. Putting yourself down will never help. Anyway I understand the struggles I am a former Fat guy and dealing with all the issues that come along with it. That’s why this question came up. I am working on getting over that fear of gaining too much fat again, but as you said you must be in a caloric surplus to gain muscle which is what I want. Anyway thanks brother.
