blacks should be paid reparations

I've been readying a bit on the thread you left Dionysus and heres a bit that I found the backs up my remarks about the rememberance of oppression.
Also as Grizzly said people are a collective group,so they also relate to this group.

The profound depths of Jewish ethnocentrism are intimately tied up with a sense of historical persecution. Jewish memory is a memory of persecution and impending doom, a memory that justifies any response because ultimately it is Jewish survival that is at stake:

Wherever we look, we see nothing but impending Jewish destruction…. I was walking across the beautiful square in Nuremberg a couple of years ago and stopped to read a public sign. It told this story: During the Middle Ages, the town governing body, wishing to clear space for a square, burned out, burned down, and burned up the Jews who had formerly filled up the space. End of story. After that, I felt very uneasy walking through the square and I eventually stopped doing it. I felt endangered, of course, a woman going about through Germany wearing a star of David. But more than that, I experienced a conspicuous and dreadful self-reproach at being so alive, so happily on vacation, now that I had come to think about the murder of my people hundreds of years before. After reading that plaque I stopped enjoying myself and began to look for other signs and traces of the mistreatment of the former Jewish community. If I had stayed longer in Nuremberg, if I had gone further in this direction, I might soon have come to believe that I, personally, and my people, currently, were threatened by the contemporary Germans eating ice cream in an outdoor cafe in the square. How much more potent this tendency for alarm must be in the Middle East, in the middle of a war zone!…

Surely black people in American have the perscution and enslavement on there minds and this can explan some of the unsocial behavior.
I think you should pay them the reparations, even if it is just a set of rims each.
Its the thought that counts.

Yeah, but I was joking. We're not a collective group. There is no "white brain" that we all share as white folks. Those of us alive today are in no way, shape or form responsible for the slavery that happened in the past. In fact, all of the black people that I'm associated with through work make MORE money than I do. How am I, the poorest one, keeping anyone down?

LOL, if thats all it took to reverse the years of persecution I would personally donate four sets of rims... (still lol)

I personally have nothing against blacks but i am VERY cautious around them until i have known them for a while. This is simply based on my life experiences living in south florida.

I used to do loss prevention (catch thieves) for macys and then later for jcpenny.Guess people of which ethnicity i caught stealing the most?

I helped my uncle out his business and we had tons of credit card chargebacks from people using stolen credit cards.Guess which customers used the most stolen cards?

My mom's one week old lexus got taken from her AT GUNPOINT. The asshole even took her purse and cell phone.Car was never recovered.I guess the stripped it and sold it for crack.

and then all the various run ins i have had at clubs, bars even basketball games.

Two of my very close friends right now are blacks but these are certainly not your ragheads with gold teeth,One of them just graduated from law school and the other one is in police academy.I had brought up this point with them and even they agree that the good, well educated blacks are rare in this region compared to the types who have no plans of college or even a getting a good job.

So personally i have a simple rule of around blacks, dont relax until you get to know them.

They were cloths on their heads. Long flowing or tightly wrapped, it's still a towel.

The real trick is discriminating between a towel head and a dothead. So many people get that wrong. Of course, I suppose I did, too, but it's the thought that counts, you elephant washing sonofabitch! Better'n being a dune coon, though, so.... ;)

Heh, Desi you're from Pakistan, they wear that too in there. Funny how many people here in Saudi wear baseball caps and no one bothers or call them ragheads (those are foreign hats to us like the so called towels to you right?), yet, some Americans, think we look weird and call us ragheads, guess you need to get more exposure to other cultures ;).

Ditto Grey.

Cmon, someone answer my question. Im serious...what makes someone an Arab? To me, an Arab is anyone who lives in the Middle East/North Africa.

They may not all wear towels, but they sure as hell have a garage full of camels. :D

OT, hows business going?

An Arab is a person who speaks Arabic as their mother tongue basically.

Business is going well, but I've been having health issues as of late (dizziness and nausea) which are preventing me from looking for some new avenues (the stock market has crashed here in Saudi Arabia, dot com de javu, so I'm looking for something different).

Whats the geographic region for that?

Sorry to hear about your health issues. How are the investments going that you told me about earlier in the year?
