Bitcoin atm anonymity?

Just curious on how anonymous buying coins from a bitcoin atm is.. like what is the process? You go in use it like a credit card atm, then scan your code from your wallet and receive them? Or do you type in your receiving address? How does it work? Any i.d required, etc?

go up to the machine put in your phone number scan you btc QR put in money wait for conf tx and its done. there probably a hidden camera wear a hat with led lights on the bill

Damn, that's good stuff. It'd be nice to be able to just buy and transfer to one wallet. Without having to play around sending coins place, to place, to place for anonymity.
