Best Macro Choice for Muscle Building

If you could pick one food for each macro to be the best for building muscle what would it be?

For me....

Protein: Steak
Carb: Oats
Fats: Olive oil

I think pats are the best carb for power and recovery. They are so hearty. I feel super strong when I have been loading pats all day prior to training. They can be a bit difficult and time consuming to digest this is why I use quick oats. Much easier on the stomach.

Egg whites/white fish
Pineapple/white rice
Olive oil/Peanut butter icecream
local breakfast house

not just three but, :) those are the best

Love properly cooked chicken and white rice. Could eat it every day and never tire of it. Problem is I also like to add sauces to it (that frequently have sugar in them). Fat would be tie between olive oil and avocados.

Steak and rice top my list.

Here’s my current complete list though: steak, chicken, eggs, animal based protein powder, greek yogurt, rice, bagels, whole wheat bread, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, jam, peanut butter.

Pasta is a powerful one for me as well. I found pastaroni olive oil and herbs. It’s mainly carbs with just the addition of olive oil as a fat source. 1 TBS for two servings. It’s really good and easy AF to get down. $1 per box at Walmart.

I have tried the Redcon1 MRE bars with the animal protein. I can’t help but feel like I am eating dog food. Like how can you put powdered beef, eggs, and salmon in a bar. Just doesn’t sound right. Like what process do they use to get that lol.

Beats me, but the MRE lite works just fine haha. I think they changed the bars up too.

Best food for building muscle would be carbohydrates #1, protein #2 in my book, but protein would be steak, carbs would be potatoes, fats would be mixed nuts

Just wanted to share this gem I’ve been enjoying lately. Only fat you add is olive oil and I use 1/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk instead of milk....

It’s flame and $1 box for roughly 80g carbs 16g fat and 14 G protein

Actually for carbs it’s a toss up between baked potatoes and pasta! Quick oats, then rice.

I’ve been at home during quarantine as been able to train at a private gym. I take 3 meals to work and eat at 9 12 3 PM. I find that baked potatoes are a little tough to digest and don’t heat up well compared to rice and sweet potatoes. That is just my opinion.

I love a fresh baked potato out the oven though.

Btw i read that the hotter the potatoes, the higher the Glycemix Index is. Because of a change in molecular dispositions on sugar chains.

A proper cooked chicken can be another planet between a shitty cooked one, like a thin chicken breast slice cooked at low temperature, will end up dried and awful. A small 3 x 3 cm cube of breast, cooked on a HOT pan will cauterize its surface making the brown crust that has a wonderful taste and will protect the muscle fiber of the cube from losing quickly their juice, cooking at a slow rate for a better results. Cutting with scissors on of them and watching if is cooked will tell you the right moment to serve it, juicy, cooked and tasty. I eat my great breast chicken cubes with a cucumber/courgette mixed with some white yogurth and soya sauce, awsm
