Belt squats

Wouldn’t be too hard to reverse engineer it. Need some tube steel and a welding machine. The pendulum would be the most difficult thing

There's quite a bit online about doing it DIY. Was kinda hoping to do it with stuff lying around the gym, but not sure there's the right stuff.

So i did these today and i like them. Hit upper glutes near lower back but not that high. and upper quads more near hip. Which is good for that middle quad straiation. Put two step up platforms and belt with 45s looped through.

Its not as good as the original but I use to do them off a board across a power rack and use ankle weights and bands for resistance. Wasn't too bad though. Got some lower back pumps so it was working somewhat FWIW. I think it was worth the time and effort in an off season environment when you had time to train GPP/conditioning etc. Wouldn't waste me time on it if I was pre contest or time was of the essence.

My gym has ac but it doesn’t do shit. 3 little package units and the duct design is horrible, full height ceiling, no insulation. The space wasn’t originally a gym and probably had a drop ceiling. Needless to say with 20-30 powerlifting types in there and a full set of windows in front facing west, that place is lucky to get down to 85-88 on summer afternoons.

It’s been perfect these past few mornings 40-50 degrees open bay doors and a fan!

Whats good about belt squats is it actually supports your lower back and allows you to squat. I never use a squat belt when lifting.

Mightymouse he really set that gym up right and continues to bring in some kick ass equipment regularly. That belt squat was awkward but really felt them.
