Bedtime HGH Bolus

Do you take a onetime bolus at bedtime or split dose?

I’m just looking for a discussion on bedtime bolus versus split dosing.

Feel free to elaborate in the comments.

Bedtime bolus is great for glucose and my favourite application over split dosing. Reasons are “some” fat loss (NOT optimal fat loss) and repair and recovery. When I’m taking larger doses (6iu+) it actually interferes with my sleep so I’m not going to add that one to my personal list of reasons. Also amazing for blood glucose levels and hardly any interference with insulin resistance during the day. Side note, for fat loss to be optimal you need very low insulin environment and there should have been some kind of muscle stimulation and lastly be in a deficit for some level of fat loss to occur otherwise you loosen up the fat molecules (lipolysis) but it doesn’t get oxidized and simply resettles.

Split dosing however. Apparently 2-3iu is the optimal fat loss dose and you can take it pre fasted cardio, pre training and even post training timed correctly to burn that fat more directly. Post training is debatable in my personal experience but bedtime should definitely be added for overnight repair. Many don’t use it for a cut cycle but that’s a whole other conversation. This method imo not great for insulin resistance.

What do you do and why?

If commenting please include which administration method you prefer and why and also the dosage used to get your best experiences.

I Take a bolus injection first this in the morning fasted. On training days I’ll spit the dose up pre training and after training. I’m currently running 12iu daily.

What are you BG in the morning when doing +5iu. Mine is 144 without Metformin. The reson for AM bolus for me.
I have perfect 1ac and BG doing the day though.

I've always done a 10-15 unit pre-bed bolus. During peak blast phase, I get to 2 units with another pre-workout bolus (obviously, insulin is mandatory at these doses if your diet is high carb + high protein, zero/low fat).

With the pre-bed bolus, fat loss and recomposition are already evident after a week (without changing kcal or diet). At 25-30 units, it's a world apart.

What's your am fasted BG? And are you administering insulin prebed to counter?
I've taken an interest in insulin but know exactly nada.

insulin during the day. Novorapid or Humalog, depending on what the pharmacy prescribes. No blood sugar issues. Currently, fasting is 82. But consider these factors.

My diet is essentially carbohydrates + protein (zero fat, only indirect fat from red meat and grains).

1000-1100 carbohydrates + 350 protein.

As for supplements, I use:

1.5g berberine HCL during the day
1.8g ALA
1g SLOWMET after dinner.

What really helps is training and staying active, high-volume training and 12-15k steps like NEAT. You'll see that you won't have any problems unless you make mistakes with insulin or food sources.

Doesn't matter when you take it as long as you don't eat for a good 4 hours after the shot. So if you get up at 3 AM and do cardio / train fasted and then don't eat until 7 am, that's fine. But as the dosages increase you MIGHT (not everyone, and some get the opposite effect) find that before bed is better because it makes you tired. What you want to avoid is taking it and then eating a bunch of carbs. That's how you get into trouble with insulin resistance and increased fasting blood glucose. Todd Lee has an iconic video where he talked about taking it like 4x per day, and as you know, apply the Todd Lee rule and invert, you want to do the exact opposite of that.

One exception I would say to the above would be if you are running a Keto diet. In that instance you might be able to dose it multiple times per day if you really wanted to. But really, if you're using it for the biggest IGF-1 spike possible, you want to hit a large bolus. Taking it multiple times per day for fat loss is a waste of time IMO. There's a lot of other things you can do to aid in fat loss that don't require potentially fucking around with your insulin sensitivity.

Personally, I take a bolus as close to bedtime as possible.

That is wild!

Just took mine. Ate high protein last night, also the Reta man handles my bg. Not totally fasted as I was up at 530 this morning and ate a banana with some psyllium husk.. so 3.5 hours post that I was at 61 mg/dL. Most mornings it’s 65-75, when I took it at nights it was no higher than 90 usually an hour after I’d eaten. 6iu bolus, before bed.

This seems to be a popular method. When you take it post training can you confirm the sequencing? I’m assuming:
- training ends
- immediately as possible hgh injection
- wait 30-60 minutes (?) then eat post training meal
?
