Axle Bar/ Fat Bar Training

I've just started using it here and there to get my grip strength up to par. I only recently started powerlifting and found my grip was giving out before anything else so my coach has me use it to gain strength in my hands
 
I don't have one at my gym but I use poor man's fatgripz (foam pipe insulation) helps simulate the fat bar. It is a help in grip training...my grip sucks.
 
I love them but I found that they start to give my thumb joints a problem if I over use them. I am still able to use my fat gripz on the pull up bar however. Go figure
 
I occasionally use my Farmer's walk handles (50mm diameter) for some lifts, awkward as it is, but doesn't seem to make much difference.
 
ive used one before for Z presses. i think im going to utilize it a bit more in the off season so my joints arent screaming at me by week 14
I have this on my list of bars to get. Duffalo bar, Mastodon Squat bar, SSB bar and axle bar. Getting my list together for all the things I want for the home gym, that will eventually be moved to a warehouse when I open a gym.
