Im interested in using PEDs for grappling. Im on TRT which is very helpful. Interested in hearing what others use. Ive done a cycle of anavar at 20mg daily. I did notice some forearm and low back pumps but it wasnt too bad. I did feel a lot stronger though and think i kept some of the strength. Its tough to tell though in a grappling sport

Yup BJJ in the master class when I was competitive. Nowadays just help train the competition team. Covid took a shit on that though, so no one is really training.

Personally A LOT of the guys use low dose TRT for faster recovery to allow for more training frequency only and not strength. BJJ though is all technical where applying strength will just lead to fatigue. A few are on HGH. A few on both.

Any suggestions for someone looking to get started in BJJ? I'm 38 and have been interested in learning for some time. I'm not sure we're to start, I know there is multiple schools close by to me

lookup lineage, I recommend any Gracie affiliated school. I trained under Helio Gracie for example. The best way to get started is to book a trial with the academy or just show up to a beginners class (check the schedule). You’re better off hitting up the instructor ahead of time. They usually give a week free before you sign up. Make sure the academy doesn’t have weird rules, like:

you can only wear gi’s bought from the academy. They’re just after your money if that’s the case. Most schools are Blue or White gi’s only which is acceptable so don’t be turned off by that. Hit me up if you have any question, I’d be happy to help.

Tap early, tap often. Don't let ego hurt you.
Anavar has only hindered my grappling, I've lost grips because of forearm pumps. Trt and hgh, maybe Cardarine, are really the only things that could help.
Finding gracie lineage imo is just overrated anymore, it meant more 15 years ago. You could honestly learn plenty from a pretty savvy competition blue belt, when you're this early on.
I'd say the most important thing is to have a healthy gym atmosphere, people that aren't afraid to tap, and people who won't hurt you. Gyms with coaches who won't roll with students is a huge red flag for me.

Also forgot to mention, there is a huge difference in sport and self defense bjj. If your goal is pure self defense, find a school more oriented towards that, my school focuses on both. Learning to berimbolo won't help you in real life, but the sport is honestly really fun. And the most fun way I can get my cardio in
