“Anabolic Diet” popular on YouTube, your thoughts?

Wait… what’s the pizza recipe?
To be honest he looks good. Better physique than a lot of guys on juice
Ehh that’s with a pump and good lighting, He looks good for a natural, but definitely doesn’t look like he’s on juice. He does have some solid recipes, but I mainly stick to his simple ones for convenience

If he'd hop on juice he'd look insane. He has a solid base if he is natural. Don't see why he gets the hate, he maintains a lean physique year round without carrying around chicken and rice all day like the average goofy bro-tard. Might have to try that pizza recipe.

He is a salesman, plain and simple. I could see the attraction to the recipes but those in the know know better. Props for the hustle though

What’s wrong with the recipes?
The quality of the foods suck, that's the issue. Some are decent though, but the dessert type garbage recipes really have no place and calling it "anabolic diet" is pretty misleading for the most part. Not to mention, who the hell is going to go through all that trouble every time they want to eat? It's a sales approach for ppl that want to think there is always some secret. Just my perspective on it. I would rather adhere to something more solid and then let a cheat meal just be a cheat meal. But that's just me

What do you think about protein ice creams though? They seem to be the more simple recipes

If you can utilize that as a tactic to diet hard longer without caving in then hell yea. To each their own, I just know with myself I would rather go hard on meats, rice, potatoes and let the cheats be the cheats. But if you can use that stuff to avoid caving in THEN it's beneficial. Just not my thing really

One other point I just want to emphasize here abt meals that seem like cheats but are not. I cheat because my body is telling me it needs something and it's usually not taste. Hence why cheats are high in fats and carbs, calories. To eat something that is a semi type cheat but still low cals just sucks. You aren't fooling mother nature by eating 300 cals of whipped cream or fat free cheese. I often question how much of this these guys actually practice on the regular and what part of it is simply a sales pitch to put money in their pockets. You wanna build a good physique then you are going to sacrifice, sometimes taste and sometimes calories. But this gray area bullshit doesn't fall in line with it

Why is it bullshit? Why make it harder than it has to be? What does it have to do with Mother Nature? Things that are low in calories but taste like desert are awesome. I don’t really understand what doesn’t fall in line?

A majority of those recipes are filler bullshit. It would be like someone saying 4 Greek yogurts is better than a cup of brown rice.

A pizza made on tortilla bread with pepperoni isn't going to beat out an 8 ounce chicken breast, sorry but it just isn't that easy. I mean, if it works for you then by all means, but common sense says otherwise to me

Common sense says whatever is sustainable. As long you meet your protein and calorie requirements that’s all that matters. It is that easy. It’s very simple. People make it harder and more complicated than it has to be. I’d choose 4 Greek yogurts over a cup of rice any day. That’s 60 grams of protein plus carbs. I’ve helped a ton of people and it doesn’t really change. That old school mentality isn’t needed.

Have you competed, though? (I don't know the answer and am not being a smart aleck - I just want to put your posts in this thread into proper perspective)

No offense taken man. No I’ve never competed. I’ve prepped a couple of times and competing just isn’t for me. I get in my head too much. I would never advise someone on getting stage ready. But I’ve gotten people pretty damn lean and I’ve gotten pretty damn lean. My posts aren’t for competitors. I’m not a prep coach. It’s a different world when you’re getting down to under 5% and dry and trying to find the right balance between full and spilled over. I do stand by the fact that gaining or losing is down to cico.
I don’t think most of the guys here that read or post are competing. They’re for the most part just trying to gain some muscle and look good naked.
Layne Norton does coach people and competes and he’s not a follower of the old school hardcore bland chicken and rice either.

Ok, got it, thanks. That puts things into perspective for me reading this thread.

Demondosage has. I have. That might explain the difference in viewpoints presented in this thread all by itself.

No reason to really suffer to get to 10% and hit the beach. You can look good naked without going through a competition prep.

I’d rather just eat real junk food and plan for it.

If I’m planning on having a bag of chips and watching a movie later, I’ll eat low fat throughout the day to accommodate for it.

Most of the “healthy junk food” stuff would just make me angry because it tastes like shit.

But do you eat a bag of chips during a cut?
No chips during cuts. I’m all business when I cut because when I do them it means that I’ve let myself get fluffy and I need to get back on track.

I mean, I cheat here and there because I’m not a competitor, but I try to stay around 12% or so. That’s a comfortable leanness that I feel good at and don’t have to deprive myself of the good things in life to maintain.

First post!

Greg Doucetes “Anabolic Pancakes” look pretty tasty >.>
