You're opening a large can worms....but I agree with you and would add incest to your position. I would like to see it completely banned, but can see the reasoning behind these instances.

I don't buy the whole argument "It's my body". AS a biologist by nature (and my studies focused primarily on genetics), the genetic "blueprint" is set in stone (barring a genetic mutation) at the time of fertilization. IMO, the process of life has begun and anything other than a natural phenomenon (i.e.: miscarriage) that disrupts that process is murder.
Now, there is the legal argument that defines death as when the heart stops beating. At week 1, the heart has not developed yet...so that is the one flaw in my argument...is that legally it is probably not considered murder. But IMO, it is.

Jbiggs- you must modify your position on "incest". I don't know how it came to be that "incest" implied forced coitus between relatives. What happens if two cousins, siblings, parent/child want to fuck like little rabbits? And it DOES happen. I think you (meaning everyone who uses "incest" to imply an atrocity) should modify the term to incestual rape. That's what I think anyway.

As far as the incest statement....usually when one speaks of incest it is understood that it is an unwanted act. You do bring up a good point though. What if it is a desired act???
Again, being a biologist, incestual relationships that result in pregnancy wreak absolutley havoc on the gene pool. Our bodies and genetic machinery are designed to "weed out" the inferior genes from each parent..resulting in the strongest individual possible using the genetic information from said parents. However, biological brothers and sisters will still a remarkably similar genetic make-up. This will greatly decrease the the bodies ability to "weed out" the inferior genes. Over generations, the gene pool has lost its variance....which is a very bad thing.

That is honestly what will eventually happen if incest continues over generations. All genetic variance is lost and the result is often highly deformed individuals. This is the medical argument against incest.

True, mistakes do happen. But, birth control pills/implants combined with condoms lowers the probability of a mistake to a statistically insignificant number. The efficacy of male condoms when used correctly is about 97% (i.e.: 3% of the time, she will still get pregnant). That is not a very big number. The efficacy for the pill is about 95%. Combined, approximatley 0.15% of women will get pregnant in a years time when used PROPERLY. This is a small number, but still large enough that one should be concerned. This IMO is still playing russian roulette. You need to know this before you go into battle and except the risks.
That being said, you still knowingly engaged in an act with the prior knowledge that nothing is ever 100%!!! You KNEW there was still a risk. You KNEW there was a chance she could get pregnant...but you still did what you did.
It even says on the condoms that there is a small chance that pregnancy could result...so you are forewarned. However, the efficacy of condoms are dependent largely upon you using them correctly. Who is to say that the condom malfunctioned as a result of something that YOU did.

Tell you what, I put saran wrap around red sauce when it's in the microwave so it doesn't get on the microwave if it splatters. I don't hesitate for a second to wipe the sauce off if it does happen, though.
Granted, red sauce and human life is not the same thing. However, a fetus is not a human life. It's a fetus. Or, if it's my fetus, it's a huge fucking mistake! LOL

I don't support abortion in any case. If the kid has a disability, and that's used an excuse for abortion thats wrong in my opinion. Are we going to kill every fetus who is not 100% perfect? I honestly hate the thought of playing God like that.
And for rape (which in this case most people support abortion), as terrible a scenario as it is, it's not the kids fault... he still has a right to live. This is all my opinion and I know I'm in the minority, oh well. Flame if ya want.

A "FETUS" is not a child. Or a "kid" as you put it. Let's drop the rhetoric.
Here's some other rhetoric, just to make a point. "You can't miss what you never had", thus a FETUS cannot be saddened, harmed, etc. by being aborted because there was only potential life and not actual life.
