World Protests

In my misspent retirement I am becoming quite the little reader. I am including a link to a study which was measuring the increase in protests by citizens around the world.

The study seems to be asking, are we in a historic age of protests?

The study looked at demonstrations from 2006 – 2020 and found the number of protest movements around the world had more than tripled in less than 15 years. Every region of the world saw an increase, with some of the largest protests the world has ever seen. They looked closely at more than 900 protests across 101 countries and/or territories.

The study attempts to ask but why? Here the authors seem to highlight one particular problem: democratic failure. The research found that a majority of the protest events recorded (54%) were prompted by a perceived failure of political systems or representation. Almost 28% of all protests were asking for some increased form of “real democracy”. Other themes included inequality, corruption, and lack of action on climate change.

Obviously protests mean different things to different people. Interesting study on a subject that seems to be growing and becoming a fixture of the future.

Study on World Protests.

There are no successful peasant uprisings in human history.

There was one case in China long ago that was semi-successful but it was supported by an insane and suicidal elite.

Things like Antifa and the women’s marches are funded and supported at the top.

Protests for more rights by people who are actually oppressed get put down quickly.

Access to digital media has spread information across the globe.

When I was growing up we didn't have internet. Protests were spread through zines, underground magazines, fliers, concerts. You had to send off for info if you wanted by putting a stamp on a letter and sending $3 to get back a few months later a catalog of items you could purchase to inform you of the world.

You picked up your rotary dial phone and called over and over until someone finally picked up.

Most of the stuff people are bitching about is 100% bullshit, it's just people with too much free time.

The only thing that anyone should be protesting is the elites that want to set up a rigged system that funnels all the money into their pockets while they bankrupt the common man with constant inflation and longer hours of work just to have the basics.

Climate change is bullshit not because it isn't happening, but it doesn't point out the root cause of it which is too many people. The planet wasn't meant to sustain this many people and we are gonna have to face that reality and stop this religious horse shit that having more babies is our sacred duty.
