Feeling great, and kind of leveled out at this point, interested in upping dose but currently waiting for results, I will update here in the next couple days

But the big question here is, im seeing increase shedding hair, in my brush, on my shirt, etc. my hair was already thin, and at 41 I've been hanging on hoping for the best, but I'm certain now that this process has been accelerated by trt

All the shit people talk about with finastride and the rest, side effects etc, has me scared. Can some one talk me off this ledge? What should I do, I know there are protocols for topical treatment, that's about the only thing I would consider. What's the safest way to get to handle this?

Or, am I pissing in the wind here? I have long hair and would like to keep it, but an I fooling myself here? Should I just cut it short and forget about it?

Does just simple rogain slow it down?

Any advice or links to other threads would helpful, but I'm really hoping someone can guide me through what to do next

Thank you guys ♥️

30mg eod what? thats not much test. if your shedding over 120mg a week you might as well shave it off big dog you are cooked

There is a 86 page thread here on Hair Loss. There is plenty of talk about low dose fin and other hair loss treatments.

Its probably nothing, just your body adjusting to the new hormone levels.
Its called Telogen Effluvium.

I had this when I dropped from 150mg Test to 75mg.
Five weeks later and my hair is as strong as ever.

I'm hoping your right, but this was an area of my head that has been thin for a while now, couple years or so, but I never see so much hair in my brush and shirts. Like it's not a ton, like I'm doing chemo , but it's enough, more than usual.

I'm trying to order the topical protocol from happy head now, fin and min, hopefully this can help me slowing it down.

I will say, this definitely has me wondering if I'm doing the right thing, like I think the majority of people doing TRT are already bald or if they kept their hair they just have absolutely zero genes for male pattern baldness.

41, I've been really happy about keeping my hair this long. And starting TRT was for improving how I feel daily, but losing your hair makes you think, well shit, how bad was I feeling? Cuz losing your hair sucks and it's hard to remember how bad you were feeling previously, you know what I mean??

I've been thinking if I should back out, which sucks cuz I just started, and fell like I leveled out recently, right at the 5 week mark, started super conservatively and had every intention of going a little higher.

Add whatever you feel is right for your hair. Fin, Dut, Min, RU58841, there is a lot to choose from and its all documented in the forums.
Worst case would be a one week vacation in turkey.

I felt this way also because I started getting widow peaks and with long hair it makes it look even worse. I took rogaine and it definitely slowed it down. Eventually I just said said screw it and shaved it off. I almost puked when doing it but now it really grew on me and my wife loves it more than long hair. The worst case scenario you can always get a transplant then never have to worry again.

Thanks for the help, I ordered the topical combo. Going to start there and hopefully this can buy me some more time . Went through happy head, they seem to have the strongest formulation and reasonably priced

FWIW i think the finasteride syndrome is probably overblown.
also u can find videos where people say if they had side effects they reduced the dose to 1mg every other day or 3 days and the hair did not degrade.

Also derek mpdp has videos on reversing fin syndrome if it happens.

The problem with the hair transplants is that they can only do so much. they bring the hair on the side to the top. but even in that case you're expected to take fin to prevent further degradation.

theres a few more things like micro needling and SLUP something rather.

Also it is not an overnight thing, it takes a long time to see results.

I'm battling with pfs for years now sadly with no succes and tried a lot things. Main issue is zero libido and anhedonia.

About 10% of men exposed to Post Finasteride Syndrome information, and given sugar pills they're told are Finasteride, develop PFS, complete with erectile dysfunction and depression.
Placebo effect applies to every drug though. But I don't think it's a surprise that blocking the most androgenic hormone and a ton of neurosteroids for x time can give PFS. Finasteride is just pure poison if you understand how many things it disrupts in the body.

Thoughts on topical?

I've been using the topical from happy head with seemingly no sides, although my morning wood might he fading, but I think my body just got used to the new levels of test

Yeah topical is much lower risk, especially if you do low dose. But still seen some get PFS from topical fina too so it's always a risk.

What I recommend is minox + needling for hair.

Anyone on sugar pills off themselves due to nocebo? Highly unlikely.

Assuming a null hypothesis (finasteride does not affect mood) and a 50% chance of 1 result against this hypothesis, the probability of getting all 8 studies concluding against the null hypothesis by chance is 0.58 = 0.0039.
