For the record, 5.56 is available in bullet weights between, at least, 40 and 80 grain, with many different purposes, from small varmints to much larger game. Some bullets are better for longer range while others do better within 100 yards it's so.

17 didn't used to be a child, but today it's most certainly a child.
Kids 30, 40, 50, especially 100+ years ago were a whole lot more mature at that age then they are today. The kids today at 17 are neurotic and out of control, staring at their phones all day. You go back to industrial revolution and kids at 13 were working 7 days a week 12+hrs a day. When you look at those coal mining kids back in the later 1800's, these kids are smoking a cigar and look like little badasses. Today's kids are still wetting their beds at 18.
Seventeen year old guys have historically done some really dumb things. They do tend to be reckless, they don't understand life and death. This is why the Indians put their elders in charge, you put a seventeen year old in charge of your tribe and it's gonna be a disaster.

Some of my best friends from a previous life of 30 years ago, as well as today, are black and they're smart as fuck. However I'm familiar with the stats. Maybe I was just lucky.
