I have a fast metabolism, i am trying to bulk, but my new job is very active, i take 12,500 steps a day 5 days a week. I have been eating 5,000 cals easy and losing weight. What can I do to hrlp? I look bigger in a way, but the scale is going down, i was 235 lbs, now i am 225. Is the inly option to really eat more? I hate eating

Now I’m curious what type of job it is
It working in a Physical Therapy office, assisting therapists with patients. You have 4 patients every 20 minutes, and you get them ready for next exercise and wipe down tables quick. You wouldnt think it was so much walking, but it is alot. Because once one patient is done you go across the room to help another, its constant motion for 8 hours.

12k is nowhere near “I can’t bulk” territory. I regularly get 10 on purpose just for health reasons. Are you eating 5k every day? Or 5k when you focus, because a lot of people say they eat a lot but it’s 3-4 days a week and when averaged out is way lower.

I used to work in a fabrication shop where I probably walked twice that amount easily, between walking up and down granite countertops with an angle grinder or polishing gun, router, and/or unloading shit and carrying it over to a rack/cart, so much walking! I was able to pack on mass, wasn’t easy but it wasn’t impossible

Dam, sounds intense, going to be making meals today to make sure i get it all in properly today

If you don't weight food and just eyeball a lot of things, you can't be very accurate. Also when eating out it's almost impossible to know how much calories you get. I try to weight and prepare everything myself and also scan the label using myfitnesspal and double checking everything.

P.S. I'm not saying you do something wrong, it just comes to my mind that it might be the case at least some days.

Yes, I think there is no other option but to eat, add carbohydrates.

By the way, yes, you're right, I often eat a lot, but in fact I ate one day, and then a little.

I'm sure you just started eating more.

I'll echo what Mac said, 12k steps a day is literally nowhere near close enough to worry about not gaining weight. Your problem is you aren't eating enough, this isn't the first time you've mentioned this. Simple solution, eat more calorie dense food if you can't eat enough.

If your job demands that level of activity then your going to have to eat more to counter it.

Throw in some junk food. CHEAT MEALS EVERYDAY :P

Idk about you but I slam 2 California Burritos (~1750 cals each) post workout currently on a bulk.

Try to make up for calories on your rest / off-work days !!

There isn't really a better answer for you sorry brother, just gotta eat more.

Have you ever considered that you may be shedding excess water or perhaps you're dehydrated? Have you used calipers and checked bodyfat?

I agree and i just went to store and grabbed alot of food, will see how it goes.

I do use myfitpal, will report back. I also have a crazy high metabolism, so this moving, is making it challenging.
