I know Im only a 288 poster but you gotta clean your house like a MOFO!!!'I KNOW THIS SOUNDS CRAZY: You gotta pull your hard drive and either hide your mechanical platters with someone or somewhere they can NEVER find them or back it up(the drive) hide one platter preferably the one that the read/write head stares atwith the vectors,etc! a hammer is the only way to destroy it!!!!
I had to smash up a phone once til I learned to "unlock it" accesss the memory.

just destroyed 2 cell phones last month for the same reason, took a sledge hammer to them then dropped them in the trash at a fast food restaurant. nothing came of it, but better safe.

To encrypt on your PC use Truecrypt with a complex password

I hear you Bro! a hard drive is essentially a read/write device. Data is intended to be recovered!!! Although there are products out there that claim to wipe a drive..I PROMISE IN 2-5 hours tops even w/256 bit encryption I could restore ENOUGH,IN CONTEXT to put you away for berrry,berry long time! Il put my money where my drive is! NO program is irreversible thats why the NSA's "PRISM" program works. Its like using anothers weight to throw them. THAT DEVICE WAS DESIGNED TO RESTORE DATA.Hell I could pull enough off of the flying head to bury someone legally but I aint LE! Will the FBI or NSA or elements of the DHS make your drive sing? OHH hell yes!!! GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!!!! Id just teach it a new"handshake" and it'd confirm me and sing like a canary. But then again Im a hacker from the old days of machine and assembly language. Why is it so hard to believe you could make a read/write device do its job? Its ALL laid down magnetically so if you have ton o bucks use a darn good degausser like how the military de-mags a submarine or ship! Keeping data away from an amateur or low level,low budget agency is not THAT HARD but try to hide your data from NSA,FBI or DHS,DoD,Interpol,CIA?......WHOLE DIF TALE!!! TRUE there are other DESTRUCTIVE METHODS..destructive being the operative word but NOT SOME MAGIC BULLET SOFTWARE! Try taking Ciscos Security A++ security test,Youll see why! DBAN has to be able to detect it to wipe it and there are many compounds to prevent that !remember the good computers have servers and they give it up too ! wipe out a firewall or two.
