Hi MESO, new here and new to TRT

Hi everyone,

I am brand new to this site. I found it while doing some searching on TRT.

I am 28, and have been completely natural all my life. I recently had my T tested, as a consequence of low libido, mood, affect, etc., and got the following results:

Component Standard Range Your Value
TESTOSTERONE,TOT SRM 348 - 1197 ng/dL 307.8
TESTOSTERONE,FREE 9.3 - 26.5 pg/mL 9.3

My thyroid was normal, with:

Component Standard Range Your Value
TSH 0.450 - 4.500 uIU/mL 1.520

I am just beginning to learn about TRT, and what I will likely be encountering now that I will have insurance coverage for this. I would appreciate anyone's assistance, as right now, I'm still in the stage of ignorance where I don't even know what I don't know.

Also, I am in Seattle, WA so if anyone can recommend an understanding GP/PCP, and/or Endocrinologist, that would be much appreciated. And, if that Dr. takes Coordinated Care insurance, then I'll be set.

Again, thank you in advance, and please let me know what other further details you would like in order to best assist me.

Welcome to MESO-Rx! When you say you've been "natural" does that mean you've never used any over the counter prohormones or other steroidal "dietary supplements"? There are a variety of bodybuilding products sold as dietary supplements that can disrupt HPTA and cause low serum blood testosterone levels.

Hi Millard,
To the best of my knowledge, I have never taken any OTC supplements that would effect hormonal levels. I've stuck to creatine, WPI, multi, fish oil, probiotics, E, C, L-Carnitine, B12, D3, spirulina, chlorella, greens products, flax oil, olive oil.

Have any of these ever been indicated to be causes?

Also, I had my cortisol tested and it was well above the reference range for the respective time period in the day. Prolactin was high/normal.

No. Just wanted to rule that out. I'm sure you already know there is a lot of useful information and advice in the "Men's Health" subforum that may be of help.

I tried posting there too. I just got a bunch of disparaging remarks directed towards my GP/PCP, but no real actionable advice. I asked for a referral, to those who were mostly interested in calling my Dr an idiot, but received nothing.

Welcome and take it easy. Post your thread ask the right questions do not be overly sensitive to comments. There are guys on here that can and will help you.
Read the posts on your subject get a feel for how to direct questions. Trust me someone will come around but don't get upset there is alot of testosterone floating around here.:) BTW I read your thread you actually received some pretty sound advice.
Do some research I bet you can find the Dr. in Seattle that will suit your needs. If one doesn't live there we would just be doing the same research you would do....Internet.

I will be seeing my Endo next Wednesday. What specific questions should I ask, and, what specific tests should I insist he run? I want to know ahead of time what to expect, and if he doesn't mention testing for all the things that should be tested for, then I will know to bring them up.
