Community Review: IndiaMart Ancillaries

I tried another vendor which uses direct shipping with DHL Express to EU.

They were super fast and prices were quite good. Shipping was 50USD and very fast.

BUT. Parcel is now stuck at customs. It says: documents are missing, a DHL REPRESENTATIVE wil contact the importer for the missing documents.
Package contains only pills. Vendor declared it as Beaty products with low enough value for it to be tax free. But still I think they need:
- invoice
- proof of payment
- Detailed item list
Which i cannot provide.

Anyway, haven’t got a notification yet. I hope I’m good. If they contact me I guess I will just decline ordering anything in order not to get into trouble. Any advice from EU guys?Is

I assume you lost.
They don't believe anymore what's wrote on it,thay want evidence with invoice.

Only Way to go is the fake invoice but when you bust is not just a no-no I think

Its always like that in eu, rip to your package.

You menace . It looks like chemist warehouse will have some competition soon .
Bro the random shit I've ordered....

I have a big box of ancillaries and other stuff.....

I think I over compensated for the humiliation I suffered at the hands of a condescending indian female endocrinologist who treated me like a drug addict 2 years ago after milking me for $500. Little fat old me just didn't want to feel like shit anymore...

Anyway.... I'll dial it back a bit.

2nd shipment from Rohit came in - this one with Modafinil. Looked untouched going through US customs and order came in its entirety.

300 Modafinil
300 Empagliflozin
300 Imleglimin
200 Accufine
300 Telmisartan

Roughly 3 weeks from order to TD US east coast.
How do you like the Modafinil? I'm thinking about trying it.

Europe and India have signed a free trade agreement….

Let's see if this has a positive effect on our orders... ;)
Not so fast, still has to be drafted in the official languages of EU and signed by the council, before being signed by EU and India.

It's speak mainly about tariffs reduction and export of EU goods and import of Indians services.

Tbh I’m not so optimistic. These agreements mostly work out for larger companies but not for private packages and so on.

We will have to wait if similiar shipping routes turn up compared to the ones from China.

If it does work out for India and the EU it will be bad news for us Americans because no doubt we will get on lockdown or 200% tarrifs in a retalitory hissy fit. And I need my Indian drugs.

Not to get too political or else I'll get another warning. But the EU is becoming more and more dependent on other economies. Yes this is somewhat good when we're talking about prices of certains goods and delivery/taxi prices. I'm sure in the future this will come back to bite us in the ass.

Now it looks like a deal I wouldn't make myself.

I don't mind it working for larger companies as long as they keep the job market in EU, which it doesn't look like it.

It was basically the same situation for me. I decided not to take the risk. Once you agree to start the customs clearance process, you formally confirm that the shipment is yours and you become responsible as the importer. From that point on, customs can open the parcel at their discretion as part of a routine or random inspection.

Providing fake or inaccurate documents (such as a fake invoice) only increases the risk, because then the issue is no longer just the contents of the package, but also misdeclaration, which can lead to serious legal consequences. If customs open the parcel and find a mismatch between the declared information and the actual contents, that’s where real problems begin. Honestly, only someone very desperate or very naive would hope that fake documents get accepted and the parcel somehow slips through X-ray scans and inspections especially in the EU.

In my case, the package was declared as beauty products but used HS code 3004, which clearly doesn’t match cosmetics, a clear red flag. On top of that, the declared value was very low for a 1.5 kg parcel, which likely attracted additional attention. Shipments from India also seem to be inspected more closely or manually more often.

The order itself was around €300. At this point I’ll just accept it as a lesson learned and move on I’m obviously not expecting any refund. The only thing I might consider is asking for a reship via the UK to the EU, but only if it can be done without any extra cost. I’d only even consider it if there are solid, recent success stories from other EU members here. But this is IMHO, YMMV and I’d only even consider it if there are solid, recent success stories from other EU members here.

Sharing my EU experience:

Ordered from Rohit to Europe (Baltics / Eastern Europe), around 2,000 tablets, ~€300 total. Since it was shipped from India, the parcel got stopped for customs clearance and VAT. Maybe because of CN22 and HSN 3004 code, no idea.

To proceed with clearance, the shipping company / postal service offered customs brokerage (standard customs clearance procedure) and asked me to provide the following documents:

1) Proof of purchase / invoice
2) Proof of payment (proof of transaction) - mandatory
3) Additional documents if available (for example a medical prescription or certificate)

According to tracking, the shipment first transited through Germany (Frankfurt), apparently without an EU import declaration, and was then forwarded directly to my country, where it was stopped by customs. Btw, I’m not sure why the shipment was sent this way, especially since I asked in advance about delivery to Europe. I was told that shipments to Europe are done on a regular basis and that the success rate is above 98%, but in my case the parcel still ended up stuck at customs.

With an order of this size and contents (prescription-only medicines non-AAS, no oils), anyway it felt risky. If customs decided to open the parcel, any mismatch between the documents and the actual contents could cause serious legal issues. Because of that, I decided not to proceed with customs clearance and declined the shipment.

Rohit offered to provide an invoice, but I was not confident that this alone would satisfy customs. The most important document was proof of transaction, which I could not provide because payment was in crypto.

Rohit suggested triangular shipping (UK -> EU), but I’m not convinced it really lowers the risk, so I’m unsure if it’s worth trying.

Don’t get me wrong. I hope this will work out.

But right now I’m just pissed that 2 of my packages are somehow lost. One in France in a post office due to vacation of their stupid guy. And the other one in a DHL facility waiting for documents.

Why can’t they figure out how to ship to EU…
