In the category of cheap drugs to have on hand, may I recommend Ondansetron having it on hand.
It is a strong anti nausea drug that you dissolve under your tongue. Works miracles if you are nauseated and need relief and it is cheap. Discovered its greatness after suffering for two days with

The doc's never give enough zofran (ondansetron). But it is such a great nausea med to have on hand.
We used to hoard ours after surgeries. Collecting the extra one here, two there. Until I found India pharma - now we have a stock of it.
Need nausea control and want to sleep? promethazine (phenergan) will do almost as good a job as the zofran (better for some things - like motion sickness, or anxiety related nausea) - but adds in sedation.
