Its Friday now and I injected the probably crashed TNE in my quad on Monday. It was maybe only 40% improved since the pain started Tuesday so I went out and got a therapeutic heating pad to do warm compresses. I had done a couple warm compresses already with like a wash cloth and a microwavable dog plushie (lol) without noticing much benefit. But this 15"x18" pad that plugs into the wall really did the trick! It's gone up to 80-90% improved today, and I bet that tomorrow I basically make it to 100%.
I do have a baby wipe warmer too. Dumbass I am, I bought it at the same time as the TNE but didn't have a spare extension cord to plug it in at my gear station so I hadn't been using it. At least I have this pad now, I'm sure its useful for other things.
Anybody know why its working so well? Is it literally just melting the crystals or are they long gone?
I don't think it's the crystals: you can see crystals in the vial → seems too big to get both into and out of a needle/syringe (or the shear stress & heat of withdrawing into the barrel them would be enough to whack back into solution [do you ever see crystals in the syringe?])
But if you actually injected intact crystals, they're long gone, probably seconds after injecting them (heat and constant movement, same thing that works for fixing crashed vials)
That doesn't mean it couldn't cause PIP, just not a likely candidate
